Routster Cottage is a charming cottage on a livestock farm, offering single storey accommodation 3 miles from Settle. There is a king-size double and a twin room here, and a bathroom with a whirlpool type bath. The open plan living area includes a designer kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area with woodburning stove. Outside is a patio and lawn, and off road parking for 2 cars. With Settle and the Dales on the doorstep, Routster Cottage is a great base for families or friends.

All ground floor. Two bedrooms both with patio doors to front garden: 1 x king-size double, 1 x twin. Bathroom with whirlpool bath, walk-in shower (may be suitable for disabled), basin and WC. Open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburning stove.

Area
The market town of Settle lies at the south west rim of the Yorkshire Dales National Park in North Yorkshire. The market place is surrounded by local businesses, the centre being dominated by the Shambles, a historic 3-storey building with shops on two levels and houses above, and the Town Hall. There is a good selection of restaurants and pubs and a public swimming pool. The famous Settle-Carlisle Railway crosses some of the most beautiful and inspiring upland scenery in the country.

Just had a short break at Routster Cottage with friends to swim in the local waterfalls and lakes. There are so many places to visit all within an hour. We loved the cottage and enjoyed star gazing under a full moon on the terrace. Fabulous cottage, with everything you could possible need.

This is our 3rd stay at Routsters and cannot fault it in anyway. Everything is spotlessly clean, bedding and towels smells of fabric conditioner. A well equipped cottage. Great views from all windows and Ray & Vanessa are perfect hosts and nothing is to much trouble. We saw a recent review regarding an unhappy customer who said they had to reverse a mile up the road, can we just say the road has many passing places and you can usually look ahead and wait for any traffic but you barely see another vehicle and this is in the week. Keep up the good work

We have just returned from a wonderful week in Routster Cottage and can't wait to visit again.. The cottage was spotlessly clean with every home comfort possible provided. Ray and Vanessa made us feel really welcome and could not do enough to make sure we enjoyed our stay in this beautiful part of the country. It was so peaceful with just the birds and the sheep with their lambs to be heard, an amazing secluded spot with 360 degree views. Watching the lambs in the adjacent field was highly enjoyable.

This was a really excellent cottage and honestly I can think of nothing the owners could do to improve it.. The quiet location surrounded by beautiful Yorkshire countryside was all we were looking for; the cottage facilities were very good with quality furniture, beds etc and well set up for self catering but with a variety of eateries very close by. As this was the lambing season we were treated to the gentle bleating of ewes with their lambs who also provided entertainment as we sat in the sunshine. The holiday arrangements were straightforward as always through Sykes and the owners were very helpful and available if required. We will certainly go again..

Routster Cottage is delightful.. It is cosy, clean, comfortable and has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Sat indoors with snow falling outside and in front of the roaring log fire with a good book, just bliss. Even bath salts were provided for the fantastic whirlpool bath. The surrounding countryside is stunning with views to Pen Y Ghent from the cottage and walks from the front door. A truly great break away.

Routster Cottage is a beautifully maintained and presented cottage with excellent facilities.. Our daughter is a wheelchair user and the large wet-room bathroom was ideal for her needs. The cottage is set in beautiful countryside with good access to the Yorkshire Dales and is also close to the main road between Skipton and the M6.

What a gorgeous cottage this really is , surrounded by stunning scenery and great walks close by.. The cottage itself is beautifully appointed warm and spotlessly clean. Everything you could wish for is there we even had a slow cooker! The owners are very close by should you require anything and they are so friendly and welcoming. I have stayed in many cottages and this one wins hands down my highest recommendation is we will return hopefully very soon.

We knew straight away as we drove the long track to the cottage we’d chosen the right location, it’s stunningly set with beautiful views in all directions, as we stepped in the cottage the first thing we noticed was how spotlessly clean it was followed by the high standard it had all been finished in with great attention to detail.. Vanessa came over on the first evening to greet us and just explain a few things, she is a lovely helpful lady and as my partner is 8 months pregnant asked if there was anything extra she could do for us which was nice. The addition of a pair of sheep in the back field made for great entertainment as on occasion they came right up to the house and would bleet a hello when going to the car, the wood burner was great and we found a Morrison’s in Kendal which sold big bags of hardwood logs for £5, the cottage is extremely well insulated, considering we stayed in winter we had the underfloor heating off most of the time because the cottage just didn’t seem to get cold which is a good thing, all in all we’d definitely visit again and when the new baby is older enough would love to go back.

Beautiful setting but close enough to small town of Settle which is an interesting place to visit, the railway station is beautifiully kept and maintained by volunteers and well worth a visit. Within easy reach of lots of interesting places to visit.

An absolutely wonderful place.. Peace and quiet with only sheep for neighbours. The owners gave us a wonderful welcome and were always available if needed. Great views and a challenging one track ‘road’ to access the property. We would all recommend Rouster Cottage to anyone.

We had a fantastic short weekend at the beginning of December to celebrate my husbands birthday. The cottage was fairly easy to find and we were welcomed with milk, biscuits and a bottle of wine. The cottage is clean and modern with everything - and more - that you could hope for. It was a particularly dreadful weekend weather wise but was so romantic and cosy listening to the wind howling and the rain lashing down whilst relaxing in front of the wood burner. We had planned to eat out on the Saturday but unfortunately couldn't get out of the farm due to the road having flooded but Vanessa and Ray were extremely kind in sharing some food supplies with us. We would definately like to return in the summer and explore some of the beautiful countryside.

This is the BEST self catering premises that we have stayed in. The owners have created a home from home in this cottage in that it embodies what you would expect in your own home. well what can i say apart from this cottage is absolutely perfect in every way,stayed here for a week and it was fantastic,the cottage itself is just stunning,beautifully kept,so clean and tidy and has everything you need to have a relaxing and comfortable stay,the owners are lovely,there if you need them but do not interfere or impose,the views are just stunning and so serene,there are lots of things to do and not far away either,settle is 3 miles away and has lovely little shops and cafe's,and lots of lovely walks and points of interest around the area,just depends how far you want to drive.overall all i can say is me and my hubby had a fantastic week here and will definitely be back.

Glorious views, very quiet and peaceful. The Cottage had been really thoughtfully equipped, with good solid furniture - no skimping because it was a holiday home. The beds were comfortable and the heating was excellent. We liked the fact that room had been left in the kitchen cupboards for us to store our own provisions; something that is often forgotten. The bathroom could operate as a wet-room (as well as having a jacuzzi bath) and a shower stool was made available. There were also sturdy rails to help disabled visitors.

In the absence of my wife, Halinka Connelly, I myself Robert Connelly having occupied the cottage at the same time will write the following review. With the exception of a T.V. that was most difficult to operate (a must with small children) there is nothing a feel warrants any negative comment, indeed, inside and out the cottage had all anyone would require. The views were breath taking, with beautiful walks right outside the door. Even with our two small grandchildren there was much to do. This review could go on and on but I feel that I can sum it all up by simply saying my wife and I will go back one day and suggest that if anyone with a small family (2 children) or even 2 pair of adults you will love this place in every way...said with confidence. Cottage is stunning with amazing views. It was so warm with the underfloor heating that we hardly needed the log burner. There is everything you could think of needing in the kitchen. Settle is only a few miles away and is a lovely town for cups of tea and evening meals. It is a great base for a walking holiday too.

The welcome, location and excellently planned and beautifully decorated cottage. The weather was exceptionally warm and wet during our stay so we had little reason to enjoy the log fire and the warmth from the under floor heating. It would be an even more wonderful place in crisp cold weather.
