The Barn Ivy Cottage is a detached barn conversion on the owners' working livestock farm, in the village of Kexby and just five miles from York. This cottage sleeps six people and has one ground floor king-size double, one ground floor twin with en-suite bath and one double on the mezzanine floor, together with a family shower room. Also in the cottage is open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area. Outside is off road parking for three cars and a lawned garden with patio and barbecue. The Barn Ivy Cottage is a lovely family holiday cottage all year round.Note: Property does not accept commercial bookings, accepts holiday rentals only.

Mostly ground floor. Three bedrooms with TV: 1 x king-size double, 1 x twin with en-suite bath, shower over, basin and WC leading to 1 x mezzanine double (accessed via spiral staircase). Shower room with shower, basin and WC. Open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area. External utility.

Area
The city of York needs no recommendation, for it teems with interest for the holidaymaker. York boasts the Minster, medieval walls, boat trips on the River Ouse, York Races, museums (including the famous National Railway Museum and the Castle Museum), and the internationally-renowned Jorvik Viking Centre.

The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

Beautifully furnished and clean property. Lovely patio area and garden - a real sun trap. A very peaceful tranquil scene. As for location; York only a few miles away and park and ride a bonus. Castle Howard also very close by and well worth an amble round. An excellent base in an superb location.

The cottage was warm, clean and well equipped with an up to date décor. The owner was very friendly. The location is really good for getting into York and the coast is only about 30 minutes by car. I would very happily return for a longer stay in warmer weather, so that I could make use of the garden.

This is undoubtedly one of the best holiday lets we have ever rented. It was spotlessly clean, warm and very welcoming, certainly a home from home. Although it is situated just off the main road there is no traffic noise whatsoever and is an ideal base for sightseeing. I would have no hesitation recommending this property to anybody.
