When it comes to attractions in Ripon's historic city, the cathedral-dominant city has a lot to offer: the Cathedral's 1300-year-old crypt, the Yorkshire Law & Order Museum and various craft markets, as well as the International Music Festival and the Ripon Races. There are also many lovely riverside and canal walks to be enjoyed. Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden can be reached on foot along the River Skell, and the popular Lightwater Valley Theme Park is only a few miles away.
