Although the cottage is situated among a small cluster of cottages some distance from any real village it did not feel remote.. It was quite spacious and had a superb view through patio doors. In the ground below there were a pair of horses and 4 lovely dogs, and a never-ending display of bird life. We found plenty to do in the area, visiting the Pennine mountains, the lovely Forest of Bowland and by train to the north Morecambe Bay. It is close enough to Settle to take the famous train from Settle to Carlisle and at Silverdale, just beyond Carnforth, there is the RSPB Leighton Moss Reserve. We were blessed with superb weather which just added to a very enjoyable holiday. We ourselves are no longer able to do much walking but it would be an excellent base for walkers. There were no shops nearby and the closest pub was one and half miles away in Low Bentham.
There was a welcome tray with half a dozen new-laid eggs to greet us.
It proved an excellent holiday. Thank you.
