This is a lovely cottage in a beautiful part of the country on the border between Lancashire and Yorkshire.. The cottage was immaculately clean and the facilities were first class. We were in contact with the owners who were very helpful and attentive. Very happy to recommend this cottage. It was perfect for our needs - a short break visiting relatives in the area.

Bridleway cottage is an absolute gem of a find.. Surrounded by stunning countryside it’s a haven for nature lovers. I spent hours sat in front of the log burner staring out of the patio doors watching all sorts of birds feeding on the bird table (including robins / a wood pecker), an owl in the tree, hens wandering around the grounds, grouse in the fields and even a little mouse scurrying in + out of the garden wall. The cottage had everything you could possibly need for a peaceful break away and the owners were extremely friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be returning to stay here again.
Miss Youren, October 2019

The cottage was well-prepared for our arrival with all expected provisions and many extra comforts that made our stay more enjoyable.. The host, Helen, was readily available by e-mail and provided assistance and welcome when contacted by us. A chance encounter with a neighbour indicated that the host is well liked and respected by her neighbours, which provides a welcoming environment for the guests of the cottage. This was a very fine holiday site.

We loved the location and the general feel of the cottage which was very well equiped and modernised inside while maintaining the look of a traditional cottage out side, the information provided by the owners was exceptional and very helpful,
All in all a brilliant week and we will most certainly return at some time in the future..

Absolutely loved the service we received from Sykes.. We were sent regular updates about payment/details about the holiday, and the customer service over the phone was excelllent. The cottage (Bridleway) was beautiful, and the owners were very helpful with any questions we had. It was like a home from home. We loved being able to watch the birds on the patio each morning while we had breakfast. The cottage had everything we needed, and was beautifully decorated. Will definitely stay again, and will also use Sykes again in the future.

Booked a three night stay with my partner and we both absolutely loved the comforting, homely feeling we got when we arrived at the cottage.. It was well equipped and anything more we needed was only a 5-10 minute drive away, of which we had a beautiful view of the surrounding area on our way.
We couldn’t help but think how lovely and cosy it would be in the winter as we didn’t get chance to make use of the fire as it wasn’t needed due to the summer warmth so are hopeful of coming here again someday.

A great bolt hole in the countryside, has all the mod cons including ultra high speed broadband.. (a must for my stay as I need to be in constant contact with the outside world) The owners could not of been more accommodating and kept me informed with useful information which made my stay stress free. It's a perfect place to sit back and relax and watch the sun go down and close to the three peaks and yes I did all three (but on separate days .; )
Could not recommended enough. 5 *

The cottage was far better than we expected.. It was a great base for travelling around the area, and a great base to come back to to relax in during the evening. Everything we needed was provided for. We were also really pleased and encouraged by the personal touch by the owners, Helen and Rick, who would text us now and then to ensure that everything was OK.
Overall, it was probably the best holiday cottage that we have stayed in over the many years of visiting the area.

This was our second stay at Bridleway in Winter and we absolutely love the peace and quiet there together with the birds that enjoy feeding at the rear of the property, the overlooking countryside and the location to visit so many nice places within an hour's drive including the Lakes.. The bathroom is lovely and cosy and so too is the living area when the wood burner is roaring. The cottage's kitchen is well stocked with utensils etc and there is plenty of storage in the bedroom with a great welcome pack detailing all things you need to know about the property. There is also outside seating for warmer weather and parking is provided and should you need anything the owners Helen & Rick are very welcoming.

Great place to stay! Me and my husband stayed for just under a week and absolutely loved it! Can't express our gratitude to the owners, the kitchen is very well equipped and the personalised extra touches around the cottage made us feel very welcome. Bird watching was a great experience too within the garden. Overall bridleway cottage cannot be missed and we'd love to visit it again and would highly recommend it to others too. Many thanks to Helen and Rick (cottage owners) - who kept in touch with us via text, throughout our stay at their cottage.

Bridleway Cottage is one of the best cottages we have ever stayed at.. The attention to detail was superb, the owners had thought of everything to make our stay so comfortable. The central heating was there for us to switch up or down, as it was early October and the weather was very mixed we where never cold and copious amounts of hot water. The views from the patio at the rear of the property where stunning, we managed to see some beautiful sunsets. The bird life in the garden was amazing we could sit for hours just watching so many different species even a resident woodpecker!!! The owners kept in touch via email and text messages, but not intrusive to make sure we had everything we needed. We would highly recommend this cottage for a truly relaxing get away and we hope to visit again.

Bridleway cottage is just beautiful, with views across to the fields and hills and as a bonus, gorgeous sunsets and birdlife! Very comfortable and well appointed. The owners have provided lots of helpful info for exploring the area- walks, sights, places to eat, things to do.etc. The cottage is in a great location- handy to both the Dales and the Lake District. We loved our stay there and highly recommend it...

Bridleway Cottage is a high standard cottage - well equipped with all mod cons, such as wi-fi, Netflix, coffee machine. The owners have gone the extra mile to think of little extras to make this a very homely cottage, even providing bird feeders in the garden. It is situated in a very peaceful location just outside the village of Low Bentham. There are many beautiful walks and places to visit in this area, Starting points for each of the three peaks are approximately 20-30 minutes drive. Would recommend Ingleton (avoid the weekend for the waterfalls walk if you can and be prepared to pay £6 each); Clapham and walk to Norber Erratics; Hawes and walk to Hadraw Force; Malham Cove and Janet's Foss.
Would highly recommend Bridleway Cottage for a perfect get-away.

What a great place to get away to! The owners have thought of everything and it's all in great condition. We enjoyed a long weekend here despite horrible weather (well, it was February after all) and felt warm and comfortable throughout.
The kitchen is well kitted out with all the crockery, glassware etc you will need. The lounge has plenty of comfortable seating and the wood burner. The bedroom storage was excellent, in fact the best I have ever come across in a holiday rental, and the bed comfortable.
What else is there to say? Would I stay again? Without hesitation!

This was one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in. The décor was to a very high standard and everything was thought of, including Netflix and WiFi. There were bird feeders in the garden and it was lovely to see the birds in the morning. Also, the wood burning stove was an attractive feature and nice to come home to in the evenings. There was an excellent pub down the road which did very good food. The area was beautiful and the owners were contactable but left us to our own devices. I would certainly recommend this cottage to anyone staying in the area.

The cottage was immaculate, and the owner's little touches made us feel right at home straight away. We didn't need to use the open fire as the radiators provided plenty of heat and the under-floor heating in the bathroom was lovely. There was a lot of information provided for local attractions and we found the visitors book very interesting.

This is the best holiday cottage we have stayed in! Very comfortable and well equipped to a high standard. Like the 'extras' - wifi, Netflix, bird feeders. Delightful position surrounded by beautiful countryside. Within easy reach of some interesting places - we enjoyed Sizergh Castle (NT), brilliant colours of the Acers in the rock garden. Also, Windermere, Fell Foot Park, Ribbleshead Viaduct, Hawes, Kendal and Settle. Beautiful Autumn colours everywhere. Restful and relaxing week.

Bridleway cottage felt like 'home' as soon as we stepped inside, and as such treated it like it was. It was welcoming, comfortable and very relaxing.

The cottage had everything we needed. It felt like a home away from a home. It had all the mod-cons, which we didn't expect to find and all the furniture was extremely comfortable. The cottage itself was in a great location and meant that we could explore the Yorkshire Dales and the Lakes. The local market at Settle was great for supplying our food for the week and the layout of the living space was ideal to cook in and also socialise. A very enjoyable stay - we will definitely be back! Thank you.

Booked a lazy weekend as we wanted to chill out and do " nought" . We could not have asked for a better place to do this :)
We arrived later than anticipated, and it was pitch black - stars were amazing - a neighbour showed us where to go and park etc. on entering the lights and heating were on and a welcome tray with cookies and chocolates. The layout and quality of the furnishings etc was perfect. We were able to settle down make a meal relax and watch a film.
The bed was a little uncomfortable - but I think this was due to it being different to what we are used to . The three days were relaxing and enjoyable - the cottage remained warm and comfortable throughout- we had some nice walks, a very nice coffee and scone in the village of Wray - a trip to Kirkby Lonsdale- beautiful and some lovely meals.
The cottage provided all the utensils, information and equipment we could have asked for. It has been tastefully decorated and thoughtfully laid out - will definitely consider for future trips - thank you :)
