Area
For many years, Herne Bay has been a well-liked holiday location. With its award-winning shingle beach and renovated Victorian memorial gardens, this provides families the perfect, tranquil getaway spot. The world's first freestanding purpose-made clock tower, which was completed in 1837 and overlooks the well-kept promenade in Herne Bay, is located there. There are numerous eateries selling everything from conventional fish and chips to exotic specialties, as would be expected when visiting an English seaside town, and Herne Bay boasts two ice cream parlours. The famed cathedral and mediaeval city of Canterbury, which also has theatres, museums, and art galleries in addition to shops, restaurants, and river cruises, are only 7 miles away. Make your way to Whitstable, a popular harbour town all year round and a place to spend a day exploring cobbled alleys and quaint shops. Whitstable is known for its annual oyster festival. The location of Herne Bay makes it easy to visit this section of the Kent coast.
