In the historic village of Rockbourne is West Park Farm, a working beef and arable farm. Occasionally, if you'd like to get involved you may be able to help the owner with day to day farm tasks and you are welcome to explore the pretty bluebell wood. Also on site you'll find a large pond and a hard tennis court, which you are welcome to use (but please bring your own racquets). West Park Farm is ideally placed for exploring the New Forest, the cathedral city of Salisbury and the sandy beaches of Bournemouth and Christchurch. Full of character, The Old Cart Shed, has high raftered ceilings, exposed beams and natural wood has been used wherever possible. Pretty cottage furnishings complement the modern bathrooms and kitchen. The bedrooms are configured for versatility, including stacker beds in one of the ground floor rooms, enabling it to be used as a single or twin room. From the lounge a handsome wooden staircase leads to a gallery bedroom tucked under the eaves. The Old Cart Shed has its own private, enclosed garden, though guests are welcome to enjoy the shared seating area around the pond. Up to two well behaved dogs welcome charged at £60 each per stay.

Accomodation Details
Ground Floor: Lounge/Diner/Kitchen. Bedroom 1 with double bed, washbasin and en-suite shower room with shower, WC and washbasin. Bedroom 2 with 3ft stacker beds. Bathroom with bath, hand shower, WC and washbasin. Gallery Floor: Bedroom 3 with twin beds. The bedrooms have limited hanging space; wardrobes are not provided in bedrooms 1 and 3.

Area
Rockbourne is a village with a pub, and a 12th century church. Home to thatched cottages and by a willow-bordered stream on the edge of the New Forest National Park, Rockbourne is rich in history with Neolithic and Bronze Age barrows, Iron Age fort and impressive Roman villa. Fordingbridge town is a short journey away, offering a wealth of shops and places to drink as well as its own museum to keep you occupied.

Peaceful location near New Forest. Lovely beamed cottage with 2 bedrooms and a gallery with twin beds. Warm and cosy, very private, well equipped and renovated to a high standard. The old cart shed overlooked the tennis court so handy to keep an eye on children. Edward showed us the new calves getting their milk in the morning. Would stay here again.

We were made welcome, the accommodation was gorgeous and my childeren were able to help on the farm. It's a beautiful spot and I cant reccomend highly enough.

The Barn is located in a wonderfully isolated working farm and it was a pleasure to stay here and see the work that goes on.. The woodland walks are fabulous and we discovered some very pleasant places to have good vegetarian food. We found The New Forest Ponies, which were so quiet and looked very content. We did travel to the big Cities and Towns close by, but were more interested in the calm of the smaller villages and hamlets, which have not been spoilt.

A wonderful place to stay.. We had a very nice time. The owner kindly secured the gate for us as our little puppy could get under it! Any minor issues resolved quickly. The only real issue for us was having to pick up a lot of dog poo from the small grass area, some of which was not at all recent. Clearly left by less responsible previous guests so perhaps owners might want to check in future. The accommodation was very clean and most suitable for guests with dogs. We visited Stonehenge (not very dog friendly), Salisbury and Exbury Gardens (very dog friendly). Check opening times for Roman Villa as closed when we went but advertised as being open.

We had a brilliant time.. The owners, Ed' and Fiona' were warm hearted, friendly and always willing to go the extra mile if necessary. The Old cart shed has been extremely well converted; the shower in the main bedroom was amazing, the family bathroom closeby very well appointed and the general ambience of the whole conversion both tasteful and hard wearing. We had a fantastic family holiday and would happily return there again. And the Forest was wonderful...SOOO many ponies!

Great space and facilities even catering for my baby with highchair and travel cot.. Really enjoyed out stay and would recommend. My daughter loved being able to watch all the sheep and ducks out the window.
