Visit Ross-on-Wye, a mediaeval market town in rural Herefordshire with timbered Tudor buildings and superb shops, taverns, and restaurants. Cheltenham Racecourse, just over 20 miles away, hosts the renowned Cheltenham Festival, a four-day horse-jumping event culminating in the Gold Cup, held annually in March.
