House in Dorset in Poole, Dorset

Description
This property is ideally situated on the A31 and on the river in the village of Corfe Mullen which lies just six miles north of the harbour town of Poole. Poole, like its near neighbour, Bournemouth, is a popular destination for holidaymakers, offering a large number of attractions including boat trips to Brownsea Island, water sports in the harbour, a water park, and the beautiful beach in the well heeled suburb of Sandbanks. Of course, there is also a good range of shops and eateries in the town, perfect for an afternoon of browsing or perhaps sampling the local seafood. For a change of scene, 5 miles west of the property, is Farmer Palmers Farm Park. This fantastic family friendly attraction is a great way for children to get to know about farm life, meet the animals, and also burn off some energy in the fun playgrounds. The area really does have something for everyone! Guests will feel like that they have been transported back in time as soon as they set foot in this Grade II listed property. The property is interlinked with the owner next door via a locked internal door. The first room they will come to is the lounge, a spacious room which offers a perfect mix of the old and new, with its exposed beams, large fireplace with wood burner, comfortable seating TV/DVD, and hi fi. The kitchen is a truly unique space, and has handcrafted wooden units, a window seat, fitted dining area, and a Range oven and hob. A doorway leads from the kitchen to the dining room, where the microwave, fridge, freezer, and washer/dryer, sit alongside the dining table. The dining room gives access to one of the most unusual and interesting rooms in the house: a games room, which not only offers a cinema area, air hockey, pool tables, and a dartboard, but also features the working water wheel. There is also a WC on the ground floor, tucked away under the stairs. On the first floor, the main bedroom features a beautiful handcrafted four poster double bed, making it a wonderfully romantic place to sleep. There are then two further double rooms, one of which has a slightly smaller than usual 4 bed. This room has a set of steep, cottage style stairs which lead up to the fourth bedroom, a twin room which is situated in the eaves of the house and therefore has low ceilings and reduced head height. Also on this floor is a hidden away playroom which is accessed via steep, ladder style stairs. The main bathroom has a shower over bath and WC, and there is also a shower room with shower and WC. Guests should be aware that this is a period property, and as such has some low ceilings, high thresholds, steep stairs, and uneven floors. The outside space is just as unique as the interior of this property, and offers an island garden which is shared with the owner in the adjoining property, with plenty of garden furniture and a BBQ which is accessed via a walkway across the river. A second walk way leads over a stream to an open area which has several deep ponds which are home to ducks, geese, herons, and kingfishers. The garden is a delightful space, but the fast moving river and stream, as well as the ponds do mean that all visitors must pay special attention and that children should never be left unattended. Guests are able to fish and launch canoes with prior permission from the owner along with the use of paddleboards provided by owner. A very short walk to a popular pub which has outdoor seating on the river, called Riverside at Coventry Arms
