New Barn is a single-storey cottage in a lawned courtyard setting, a mile from Winterborne Stickland and four miles from Blandford Forum. The cottage has a king-size double with en-suite shower, and a twin with en-suite bathroom. The open plan living area has a kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburner. Outside is ample off road parking, a private patio area, shared lawn and shared games room with pool table, table football and air hockey. New Barn is close to local walks, pretty villages and bustling market towns, as well as for exploring the Jurassic Coast and the rest of this lovely area.

All ground floor. Two bedrooms: 1 x king-size double with en-suite bath, hand-held shower, basin and WC, 1 x twin with en-suite shower, basin and WC. Open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburning stove.

Area
Winterborne Stickland is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offering good walks and superb views. Take a visit to the market town of Dorchester, home of Thomas Hardy. Within an easy drive lies the Jurassic Coast with sandy beaches at Weymouth and Swanage and cliff top walks along the South West Coastal Path.

Fuel, power and starter pack for stove inc. in rent. Further fuel can be purchased from owner. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Please note: a hand and bath towel will be provided for each bed space. Travel cot and highchair. Ample off road parking. Covered bike storage. Enclosed, private garden with lawned area, patio and picnic bench. Shared front lawned area. Shared games room with pool table, table football and air hockey. Two well-behaved dogs welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop 5 miles, pub 1 mile. Note: Dogs to be kept on a lead whilst on the premises due to nearby livestock.

We loved the cottage and particularly appreciated how clean it was under the current Covid situation.. It was well equipped and the small enclosed lawn on the front of each property meant it was very dog and children safe. The layout of the six cottages enables each cottage to have plenty of windows facing the central lawn without sacrificing privacy. We have already booked two of the cottages for Christmas. A couple of small telephone queries prior to our stay were answered very swiftly by the cheerful manager Leanne. My only grumble would be that our mixed age party all felt that the beds although good quality, were very hard.

This place was lovely and quiet and very clean.. The only downsides were the amount of flies (we put fly tapes up and still there were so many of them) and the gurgling of the water pipe in the bath; this did disturb my sleep one night.

Negatives: - The closure of the advertised Games Room - The huge amount of flies that prevented the door being left open.. We had to regularly use the fly papers, which stick to everything, and fly spray! - No seat cushions or other chairs to sit on outside in the lovely sun. - The bathroom sink hot tap being out of order for 5 of our days and a lack of communication about its repair. - Not much storage space or even a cupboard for Hoover etc. - Towels for showering too small Positives: - Very clean with nice bathrooms and kitchen. - Nice quiet rural location.

The property was rather tired and a very muddled mishmash mash of cooking equipment, too many of one sort of utensils and none at all of another which you could have done with.. It needs a rethink . The shower heads and pressure was none adjustable, it was far to high and was quite uncomfortable to use . It also needs a rethink. Other than that not too bad.

Lovely little cottage with everything you need, the enclosed garden was a must for us as have two small dogs.. Inside the cottage it was very clean and very well equipped. Very good area to check out to Dorset. Highly recommended.

A fantastic little cottage that suited our needs.. A great location to get to anywhere around Dorset, particularly the coast and beaches. A lovely local pub, The Crown, which serves great food and has friendly, welcoming staff. A few nice little outdoor walks in the local area. No convenience shops nearby. A short 10-15 minutes drive to the local Tesco. Stock up on supplies on the way to the cottage. Highly recommend this cottage.

We spent our first Christmas with just two of us and the dogs at new barn (we have been together over 30years) and we had a great time.. Great location you can start your walks from just across the road. Well thought out design to ensure comfort all round. Great facilities would recommend any body thinking of going to Dorset to chose this location as it is easy to visit many great places from this base

Great facilities, warm comfortable, nice fenced garden which was super so our two dog's could have an area to play and explore without bothering anyone else.. The games was a plus and I now know I am not very good at Air Hockey. There are lots of places to visit that are not too far away plus the village pub was friendly and made you at home "The Crown" is only 1mile away and worth a visit.

The Barn is in a lovely, quiet location and just 1.5 miles away from the local pub. Everything you need is provided in this home from home. Had lovely gardens, with a green area in the middle of the barns. We had a lovely holiday with friends and plan to book for next year shortly.

A very good cottage and the little extras given made this break. In a good area for walking your dog and the beaches are close. The local village had a very good pub that offered a variety of dishes on their pub menu. The games room within the cottage complex was excellent - the cottage would suit any family.

Property was finished to a very high standard and in a perfect location for exploring Dorset. The property water is supplied from a private natural spring - better quality water from the tap than most premium mineral water you buy in a glass bottle. Where else can you have a shower in pure spring water. We will be back for sure. You will not be disappointed with this property.
