Location and view across Atlantic ocean are amazing but this does not make up for the appalling lack of housekeeping. When we first arrived the apartment appeared fresh and tidy but very soon discovered that this was not the case. The kitchen cupboard handles were sticky and greasy. The grill pan was dirty and unwashed, the tea pot contained an old tea bag, the sofa was old and worn and in between the sofa cushions was a combination of crumbs, dust and other stuff. Whilst looking for an earring I looked under the sofa and it was so dirty and dusty and there was even an old CD. The radiator in the end-suite was covered in thick dust as we're most of the skirting boards throughout the apartment. The plug in the shower en-suite was so blocked the water drained very slowly and threatened to spill over the shower base. The mattress protector on one of the beds also had blood on it. We did try and phone Sykes holidays, on three different numbers but we're put on hold for so long we hung up. The main bedroom is also located very close to the buildings main front door which is heavy and noisy and in constant use from early morning until late at night. It is also opposite a church and the bells ring on the hour every hour so if you are a light sleeper this Is definitely not for you. There is no procedure in the information pack if you do have issues and a lot of the tourist information is out of date. 2017 bus and tide time tables!
Place needs a deep clean, guest information updated regularly and a clear issues procedure with contact telephone numbers of people who will answer the call and provide assistance if necessary.
