Stable cottage had everything we needed with the added extra of our own garden. Fabulous views and a perfect place to sit and take in the peace and quiet after a day of walking. We were a short walk to a public footpath which led to the coastal path which took us into Ilfracombe about an hours walk away. A walk down to Lee and then the other direction to Woolacombe. Kathy, who looked after the cottages was extremely helpful and made our holiday that much more enjoyable. Can't wait to stay again.

Fantastic base for those who love to walk.. Stable Cottage benefitted from it's own garden with fabulous views, so worth paying the extra. We thought we would eat at the local pub, but this was a mile away and a steep walk back, so we didn't try it. The lady who looked after the cottages was extremely helpful and made our stay more enjoyable. Looking forward to staying again.

The Stables is a lovely cottage that sits above a wooded Coombe that leads to the sea at Lee approx 1 mile down a steep hill (it's where the pub is too).. The cottage itself has two small bedrooms and a small but well equipped kitchen. The living dining room is a good size and the games room and beautiful garden are a bonus. The hosts were welcoming and have gone to great lengths to reassure holidaymakers in the current climate. Highlights are Saunton Sands, the south west path views at Mortehoe and Wollacoombe beach, all amazing.

Excellent holiday cottage, have already recommended to family ! Clean, comfortable and perfect size for two adults and two teenagers. Stunning garden which was nice to sit out on patio and admire the beautiful view and all the family enjoyed games room. Owners very welcoming and helpful. We took quite a lot of chilled food as staying for the week but Fridge is quite small so had to put some food in freezer which wasn’t a problem but something to note if taking a lot of food. Just one note and nothing to do with cottage but Sykes advise pub on doorstep which is misleading. To long of a walk down a narrow, sometimes steep in parts road. Safest way would be to drive, definitely not on doorstep !

The photographs do not do justice to the beautiful gardens the house is situated in.. The cottage is very well equipped & situated well between Ilfracombe & Woolacombe. The hosts are friendly & welcoming. A great base to visit many attractions in North Devon . We would certainly be happy to return to the cottage & recommend it to our friends.

The cottage is clean, comfortable and well equipped.. The best thing is the wonderful garden our hosts, Richenda and Kathy, shared with us. We looked forward to our evening G & T in the swinging garden seat watching the sun setting behind the fields. The view is stunning and the garden is large and well looked after. Our 7 year old son and our dog loved to run up and down the length of it. There is a picnic bench in the main garden and in the cottage's own little patio although it was a bit too chilly in October for alfresco dining! From our 7 yr old's point of view the highlight was the Games Room/Barn. He loved it. Thankfully we had beautiful weather but in October (or any time of year in the uk!) it provided peace of mind that if our plans got rained off we had options. There is wi-fi but the signal is intermittent. Fine for web access and social media but not good enough for streaming There was lots of good local information available. The dog friendly attractions/beaches/ cafes were particularly appreciated Kathy and Richenda were very friendly and helpful.

We really enjoyed the week at the cottage and found it well equipped and particularly well set out for dogs.. .. e.g.hard floor in living room, leather sofas, big secure garden..and the owner Kathy was a real dog lover and even looked after our dog for a day so we could make a boat trip to Lundy. The district is full of great things to do within easy striking distance by car. Don't expect lots of easy walks (with or without a dog).. There are narrow lanes with high hedges and some traffic and the cottage is situated at the top of a mighty hill with a mile long walk down to the magnificent Lee Bay.. and a mountain climb back... Limited parking by the shore.

A totally relaxing break for us, including our dog! Cathy and Richenda are so welcoming and friendly, we enjoyed our chats in the beautiful garden. We had a private terrace, overlooking the garden, which had all day sunshine and a picket fence and gate. Our little dog was happy to stay out there and enjoy any attention. We had trips out to Ilfracombe and Woolacombe, both within 15 minutes drive. The cottage is well equipped and spotless, lovely views from the garden and back bedroom. We would highly recommend a break at Stable cottage, we will return for another stay.

This was a last minute booking as we had a grandchild arrived early so needed to book asap,The booking with Sykes is so easy and very friendly.. We found the cottage very warm and clean, we had been worried being January we would be cold. The cottage is like home from home and the heating was on constant. Cathy greeted us and our little dog Tess.Would love to visit the cottage in summer as their is a lovely little enclosed patio area, with extended garden area with a beautiful view which i would of loved to of taken advantage of especially on a summers evening.Thankyou Cathy and Rachenda.

Upon arrival we found Lincombe a very charming hamlet and the stable cottage is clean, bright, airy, warm and welcoming. Parking right outside the cottage is important when we have a little dog with us.

The lounge was very spacious; the kitchen was perfectly adequate for preparing decent meals. Ok, it might need a bit of forward planning for a Sunday roast with all the trimmings for 5 people. The bathroom is a good size with a good electric shower. Bedroom are cosy and warm. All satisfactory.

As we have no children in our party we did not use the games room. Instead we spent quite a lot of our early mornings and evenings in the Lincombe house garden. The garden was a credit to the owners. It was very well maintained and a perfect spot to admire sunsets. Sitting in the swing with a glass of wine, birds singing nearby, a gleam of the sea in the far corner, that’s tranquility itself.

The owners, Richenda and Kathy, are very friendly people. When we first arrived Kathy came out to meet us and showed us where things were in the cottage and their beautiful garden. Richenda and Kathy would leave us in peace to enjoy our holidays but when we saw them in the garden they were very friendly and would stop to chat.

We were very grateful to them for their help when I had a problem with my car. Kathy even gave up her time and took me to her car mechanic friend straight away and have it fixed. They even offered to put us up for an extra night when the driving conditions were a bit dubious with the strong wind battering the South West Coast on the day we due to come home. Now, how kind and caring was that.

Bright and clean accommodation, central location, beautiful surroundings, friendly and helpful owners. That’s the essentials of a perfect holiday.(

We stumbled across Lincombe house and trust me was the best thing we ever did. We stayed in stable cottage. A beautiful cottage. Lovely bathroom with shower. Very well equipped kitchen. Has a washing machine which is so valuable when you have children. Lovely to with access to wifi again a must when you have children . Bread rooms again lovely . The gardens our just stunning so tranquil and peaceful. The owerers went above and beyond to make sure our stay was memorable. Lee bay is a stunning natural beach. Close to woolocombe and ilfracombe . The cottage is ideal for staying wether your a family or walkers or even bike riders. The games room is a well added bonus for those early evenings after a day exploring north Devon or the local beaches. Plenty of things like bucket and spades etc to borrow..as a family it's the best cottage we have ever stayed in. Also pet friendly

We had another great holiday at Lincombe house, Richenda and Kathy we're very friendly and welcoming and left us some doggy treats for our lab. They helped us from the start by getting the cleaners to start on our accommodation first as we got to lincombe earlier than normal and was completed when we got there. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen isn't big but it doesn't need to be, we won't be baking just breakfast and dinner. The living room has every thing you need and is spacious for myself my wife and 3 teenage boys. The dining table couldn't seat 5 of us but the boys didn't want to sit with us so took it in turns to eat on the settee. The bedrooms are adequate for what we needed them to be and we had good night sleeps. The shower took some time to get used to but when we did we had no problems. The garden is lovely and had some great views. The boys didn't get bored because of the games room playing table tennis, pool and darts. The cottage is about a 10 minute drive to the fantastic woolacombe beach. And for the walkers out there the walk to woolacombe has some amazing views. Lee is just down the road and has a small beach and rock pools. Overall we had a great time the cottage is perfect for us we love woolacombe and we've booked for next year in hillymouth cottage and can't wait to go back.

My wife, I and our dog stayed at Stable Cottage in early July 2016 (and were joined later by our daughter and her boyfriend). The cottage was very comfortable and spacious for the five of us; and all the facilities were very clean and plentiful. We had access to good quality WIFI throughout our stay and the games room (with darts, table tennis and pool) was great fun and greatly used by us. (Even the dog got excited in there!) The beds were warm and comfortable; and as the cottage was in a quiet location we slept like logs every night. Stable cottage has its own private terrace (with garden table & chairs) and overlooked the main Lincombe House garden which was huge and beautiful; with views to the sea at Lee bay. The private terrace was ours exclusively; but it was also made clear to us that we (including the dog) were welcome to use the main garden (which we did often). The locality is fantastic; being only 10 mins from Ilfracombe (a lovely, large seaside town); and only 10 mins from Woolacombe (in my opinion the best beach in the UK). There are lots of charming pubs and places to eat nearby. I cannot close this review without saying something about the owners; Richenda and Cathy. They really went out of their way to make us feel welcome and we're extremely helpful with any queries and requests we had (and we're a great laugh conversationally as well). They are very caring people; who are extremely dog friendly. This was the second time we had stayed with Richenda and Cathy; and on each occasion we have enjoyed our stay so much that we have immediately booked again for the following year. (We will be there again in July 2018!)

We arrived as a family of 5. First impressions a little disappointing :(. The owner insisted in meeting us but seemed off on the phone. Came in and said all was self explanatory so felt the greet was more a vetting process. We expected a lovely stable conversion but was plain and basic. Small tv, table for 4 so one had to eat on the sofa all week. Sofas for 4, small kitchen without sufficient equipment to cook a decent meal for a family of 5. Small oven without extra baking trays, no idea how to work oven as markings rubbed off and wrote on with pen that was partially rubbed off. No instructions found for microwave and not like one we have at home. Many chipped glasses and plates. Dirty cutlery holder. Shower lovely providing no one uses water in kitchen at the same time then you risk a scolding. Games room had no pool balls when we went to play so had to ask and at first replied we are having dinner but at least came along shortly after to release balls stuck inside blaming previous family for it not working. No trampoline this was in bits under the table remind table. Table football pushed in the corner, Unlevel and rusty. Toilet roll was half a roll and there was no hand soap and only the bin bag that was in the bin. The biggest perk of the accommodation was its location and what I can only assume is people’s previously left belongings. Wind breaks but no hammer, buckets and spades, and small surf boards free to be used. We used the buckets and spades as we forgot ours and with Woolacombe beach 10 mins away it was a heavenly bonus. All in all this location is great access to ilfracombe and Woolacombe but only to rest and realistically only provides accomodation for a family of 4. If you are looking for a warm cottage we feel stable cottage isn’t for you. It’s decor and furnishings are not inkeeping with the age or style of the property. It has more a feeling of a rented flat. We felt the accomodation over priced for what we got. Don’t forget all essentials - toilet rolls etc you will need them.

The in cottage broadband was pretty hit and miss, we ended up using a local BT fon hotspot although the signal was much weaker than the cottages' own the performance was much better..
