A community-owned general store with a Post Office is located in the village. Traditional beer and food can be found in two local establishments. Nearby attractions include Bakewell, Matlock and Chatsworth House, as well as Peak Rail Steam Railway. The Limestone Way also runs along the village's edge. Nearby are the Tissington and High Peaks walking and cycling trails, where you can rent bikes to explore the surrounding Peak District.
