We have just returned from a week at Nuffies Cottage, my wife and I, Son and Daughter in law and our 15 month grand daughter.
Just to say from the start, we could not have been happier with our choice of cottage/location/hosts and luckily the weather.
You are staying on a working farm, the cottage faces onto a courtyard shared with another holiday let, a cottage occupied by a family member and of course the home of your hosts Gill and Mick.
Due to the slope of the land, all downstairs windows face onto the courtyard, upstairs bedrooms have views of the surrounding countryside. It is well sized even for six people with two double bedrooms and a separate bathroom upstairs, kitchen/dining area and lounge area downstairs with a further twin bedroom and en-suite off this main area..
Apart from yourselves and food, just about everything else is provided, in a separate building is a utility room with washing machine and dryer which you are able to use, and various items such as high chairs/ironing board etc.
Location is at the top of a hill [hence Hill Top Farm] just over a mile from the A5012 . Aldwark is a very small group of farms, the nearest pub is the Hollybush Inn which is about 1 mile down hill. Consequently any journeys out for a drink or evening meal would need to be by car unless you are quite fit and mobile.
This was not a problem for us as we ate in every evening with our young grand daughter and the kitchen is fully equipped with oven/hob/microwave.
All in all, if you are looking for a quiet stay in wonderful surroundings you could do a lot worse than stay with Gill and Mick, sadly even they cannot guarantee the weather but we were more than lucky with our weeks worth of bright sunshine.
