There are numerous walks from the doorstep that lead into the scenic Peak District National Park and tranquil Carsington Water, with lots of activities such as cycling and watersports on offer. For a family day out, Alton Towers, Matlock Farm Park, Chatsworth House and Kedleston Hall are all a short drive away, as are pretty towns and villages such as Matlock Bath, Ashbourne, Bakewell and Buxton, all of which boast an array of shops and restaurants.
