We booked this 3 bedroom cottage for a long weekend break, with our family.
It is situated on a quiet road in the stunning location of Tideswell, that is a large village with a number of pubs, restaurants and shops.
The cottage is surprisingly spacious, with three double bedrooms and a separate lounge, dining room and kitchen. It is also beautifully presented, with great attention to detail; it felt like a home rather than a holiday let. There are two log burners that we made good use of and they give a lovely homely atmosphere and plenty of heat. We enjoyed eating together in the spacious dining room and the bedrooms are comfortable and relaxing. Our young adult children particularly liked the walk-in shower downstairs and there is also a beautiful bathroom upstairs. The cottage is very well equipped and the furnishings and artwork are pretty and rustic, but is is also very contemporary.
I would have been quite happy to spend the whole weekend relaxing in the cottage but we did enjoy the caves at Buxton, a walk along the Monsal Trial, viewing the tunnels that have now been opened, climbing the rocks at Robin Hood's Stride and a walk at Bradford Dale.
We have have been visiting the Peak District for over 20 years and can safely say that this is the best cottage we have ever stayed in. You won;t be disappointed and the Peak District is a magical place to visit, if you love the countryside and nature.
