Our first trip to Derbyshire and found this gem of a place as our base. It didn’t disappoint, well appointed and fully equipped, lovely decor and furnishings. The beds and pillows were so comfortable, everything helped give us a relaxing stay. Lovely garden and views over fields and so quiet. Would definitely stay here again if we return to the area.

We are staying in this property at the moment, it is a fantastic holiday let, very quiet, but within a few miles of some very interesting places to visit. We have been to Hopton Hall Garden today(only open at certain times of the year). We had a very tasty Sunday Lunch at Carsington Visitor Centre.

4 of us stayed for a long weekend in November. The cottage is in a quiet rural location but has good access to many surrounding villages/towns . The decor is beautiful and has been very tastefully done. We genuinely needed for nothing as everything had been provided. Rooms were a good size and the log burner gave it a real cosy feel.
The owners had provided more than enough logs/ kindle for the burner and we were even left a nice bottle of wine/choccies on arrival.
Carsington reservoir is just on the doorstep, where you can go for a walk as short or as long as you feel able.
We did the full 8 mile circular and it was stunning.
The nearby village of Wirkworth has plenty to do and we also went to Ashbourne to attend the Remembrance Day parade.
We would highly recommend the Ivet Lowe and I can’t see why anyone would be disappointed with this lovely retreat.
