Old Farm House is a lovely stone-built annexe situated next to the owners' home, on the edge the village of Rowsley, near Bakewell. This cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms, consisting of a king-size double with en-suite and a twin, together with a ground floor bathroom. The cottage also has a kitchen and a sitting room with dining area. Outside there's off road parking for two cars, a private courtyard with furniture and a shared lawned garden. Old Farm House is a delightful base for a couple or small family.

Area
Rowsley is a pretty village situated close to both Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. Rowsley has many attractions, including Caldwell's Mill which houses the last water-powered roller flour mill and a range of craft workshops, shops and a restaurant, Peak Rail, which is a rail enthusiasts dream with rides along the valley, and the Peak Village which has many outlet shops with bargains galore together with feature attractions, a fitness centre and an old fashioned sweet shop and ice cream parlour.

The ultimate in “year-round” appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.

Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Highchair and Travel Cot available on request through the owner. Off road parking for 2 cars. Secure bike storage. Private courtyard with furniture, plus shared use of owners' lawned garden. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shops, pub and restaurants 5 mins walk. Note: There are two steps down to the ground floor bathroom.

We had a lovely stay at Old Farm House at the end of August.. The cottage was really clean, well equipped, cosy and quiet. The owners were very welcoming and it was clear they had gone to a lot of effort to make us feel safe and comfortable in the current climate. Having plenty of hand wash and toilet rolls to keep us going was also an unexpected and nice surprise! Our children had a great time on the trampoline and enjoyed seeing the roaming chickens and feeding the resident sheep! The only issue for me was that the double bed was a little on the hard side, but that’s a minor niggle. We had to use the car more than if we’d been in a town, since the cottage was between Matlock and Bakewell, but it didn’t put us off. It was a great base to travel to all areas of the Peak District and we’d definitely consider booking again. Thank you for a lovely holiday!

I stayed for one night visiting my dad and it was a great experience. Modern and well appointed in old farmhouse buildings, cosy and welcoming. Lots of equipment for self catering and a lovely lounge area. Near the main peak towns and Chatsworth and right next to the Peak Shopping Village which has a few shops and a nice restaurant. Very attentive hosts who went above and beyond. Thank you.

The Old Farmhouse Cottage is convenient to shopping, dining, and Peak District attractions, yet serves as a secluded retreat away from it all.. Located in the picturesque village of Rowsley, we found there were great local eateries and sights to enjoy within walking distance of our lodgings. Gracious hosts were very accommodating and went out of their way to insure we had everything we needed during our stay. We definitely recommend booking with the Old Farm House cottages and would stay there again!

The owners were welcoming and helpful.. The holiday property is self-contained and private in a quiet and peaceful location but easily accessible from the road through Rowsley and on to Chatsworth House and Park. Well equipped, clean, warm and comfortable.

This was Familly Dibsdales first visit to the Peal District and we were lucky to find the perfect accommodation.. On arrival we were met by the owners whom told us all we needed to enjoy our visit. We simply could not fault the location as we had initially booked with the intention of visiting the Chatsworth show. Locally there were some excellent circle walks with absolutely stunning views and amazing countryside. Visits to Bakewell, Matlock and Chatworth House were much enjoyed . Everything was perfect.. The house was clean cosy and comfy with a nice kitchen and bathrooms. It was so handy being able to walk to the bar/restaurant and shopping village which even had an indoor soft play for the kids.. There was much more to do in the area than we had imagined and couldn't fit in all the local attractions in just one week. I couldn't fault anything with this holiday. The owners were lovely and if we visit the area again I would re-book this house.

A lovely find for our short break visiting Chatsworth.. Very comfortable, warm and relaxing with all the thoughtful extras that make a stay great. The hosts were very nice and on arrival we enjoyed the tour of the cottage provided by the daughter. Directions provided were excellent and we appreciated the prompt replies to questions. Hope to return when next planning another visit to the area.
