Margaret House is a fabulous Lake District holiday cottage situated in the quaint village of Pooley Bridge. It sleeps eight people and has two double bedrooms (both en-suites), a twin room and a bunk bedroom. The ground floor features a kitchen, dining room, sitting room and access to outside seating on the patio. It has off road parking for four cars. Located just a short walk from all of Pooley Bridge’s amenities.

Over two floors: 1 x master bedroom (double) featuring its own washroom with shower; 1 x twin bedroom; 1 x bedroom (king size) featuring its own washroom with shower and 1 x bedroom with bunk beds for adults. Bathroom has a bath and shower cubicle. Ground floor WC. Cloakroom. Sitting room with Smart TV. Utility room. Kitchen with dining room.

Area
Pooley Bridge is a traditional village with inn, cafe and shops. The surrounding area is home to numerous quaint Lakeland villages scattered along the shores of Lake Ullswater and Aira Force is a dramatic waterfall cascading into the lake below. Sharrow Bay Hotel is only a short drive away for the ultimate in dining and is renowned the world over or a trip over Kirkstone Pass brings you into Ambleside.

Region
Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

Pub and shop 10 minutes' walk, Ullswater Lake 15 mins walk. Note: Max 8 adults.

Margaret House is a lovely holiday rental, very close to the village with a selection of pubs and well located for walking.. The house was lovely, only negative point from us was dining chairs need recovering. There was 6 of us and we had adequate space. Would highly recommend. thank you

Overall, the accommodation is of a very high standard.. However, a few things need to be improved: 1) Some kitchen equipment is lacking, e.g. no large frying pan (even though this cottage accommodates 8 people), the wok needs replacing, some pan handles were worryingly loose, and a large lidded saute pan would be very useful. 2) Most tumblers provided in the kitchen are a horrible green plastic. Please could we have glassware? 3) In one of the main bedrooms, the light in the en-suite didn't work and the mirror looks like it could fall off at any moment. Having said all this, we would happily stay here again - it is a lovely spacious house in a great location.

The house was excellent and in a good location and generally couldn’t fault it.. However the light in the en suite bathroom in double room wasn’t working and the mirror was loose. Just a suggestion to the owner there was only one key for the house and another one would have been handy. There are two picknick benches on the patio but some comfortable seating would have been appreciated as we had a hot sunny week and it would have been nice to sit outside in comfort. The only other thing I would say is that perhaps the house is not suitable for older people. The ground floor is on two levels with steps in between, the two 80 yr olds we had with us found them a bit of a struggle. Did not spoil our enjoyment of the holiday and enjoyed staying in the house which is a short stroll into Pooley Bridge. Plenty of walks from the house. Good location for visiting north Cumbria and Westmorland. Would recommend the Eden Valley.
