Stag Cottage is a sandstone fronted cottage set in the village of Motherby, close to Penrudduck, and can sleep four people. There is a Kingsize bedroom, a twin bedroom, a bathroom, a ground floor wet room and an open plan living area with a kitchen, dining area and sitting area with a woodburning stove. Outside there is ample off road parking and a lawned garden with patio and furniture. Stag Cottage is a lovely base to spend your well deserved holiday.

Area
The charming traditional village of Penruddock is situated in a secluded position in the northern Lake District between Keswick and Penrith, and just four miles from Ullswater. The popular town of Keswick is nearby and has a number of shops and restaurants, as well as miniature golf, good parks, the Theatre by the Lake and a cinema.

Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

What a lovely cottage.. So well equipped comfortable and loved the location. Great views nice local pubs too. Owner was responsive and helpful. Woyld definitely recommend and consider staying there again.

I wouldn't hesitate in booking this beautiful cottage again and hope to do so for longer next year.. The cottage was exactly as described and lovely and cosy in a peaceful location despite being situated right up to the road. The whole booking process through Sykes cottages was smooth and efficient including the directions to the property to the enth degree. We were very grateful for the entrance description including reference to the ivy clad wall as we could so easily have missed it otherwise! Thankyou for a wonderful stay in an idyllic property.

Stag Cottage is a lovely comfortable house in a small hamlet but handy for going to visit either the lake district, travelling on the M6 or further East towards the Yorkshire Dales.. The nearby inns serve excellent meals if you don't want to cook.

We enjoyed our stay here.. It was a good location to be able to explore the area. We walked and cycled lots, saw lots of animals, foraged for wild fruit and rested in between. There is a great local outdoor swimming pool and a wonderful cycle cafe in Greystokes. The cottage had everything we needed.

Cottage is in a beautiful setting and very comfortable.. The views are stunning! The two showers worked perfectly. The second bedroom would have more room with a double bed, as quite small for 2 adults, but can understand why 2 singles installed. We will be booking again for 2019

Stag Cottage is a delight.. We spent a wonderful weekend exploring Keswick and the northern Lakes with our Canadian friends who were very impressed by our choice of cottage. It is spotlessly clean, well equipped, the beds are very comfortable, there are good pubs nearby serving good food, and it is tucked away in a peaceful spot with lovely views over fields and fells, horses munching, birds singing - what more could you want?
