Mellfell Cottage is a delightful character barn conversion situated in the village of Watermillock in the beautiful Northern Lake District and is pet friendly. Offering flexible sleeping arrangements with one four poster double bedroom, a family room with three single beds and a bathroom, this cottage can sleep five people in two bedrooms. The cottage also contains an open living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburning stove. To the outside is a patio area complete with picnic bench and off road parking for one car. Mellfell Cottage is located in the Lake District National Park and is ideal for a family or group of friends wishing to explore this stunning area. Please note - There is no electric car charging point at the property and you are not permitted to charge from inside the property.

Two bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x family room with 3 singles. Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. Open plan living area with kitchen, dining and sitting area with woodburning stove.

Area
The village of Pooley Bridge is situated on the edge of Lake Ullswater in the Lake District National Park. Pooley Bridge offers many traditional inns, tea rooms, a Post Office and the Ullswater Steamers depart from the village, from where a tranquil cruise down the lake to the villages of Glenridding and Howtown can be enjoyed. There are many walks nearby and within driving distance are the towns of Penrith and Keswick.

Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

A big farmhouse in front of this cottage which blocking entire view.. It’d be handy to have a freezer so can make ice cube or freezing cooler box ice pack.

We stayed here over the New Year and it was everything we thought it would be and more.. Very clean and immaculately tidy. There was prosecco and biscuits on arrival which I thought was a lovely touch as well as the cottage being decorated for Christmas which made it feel very festive. The open fire made it feel very cosy during the cold winter evenings, wood was provided on arrival and it was easy to purchase more from the farm once we had run out. It was a great location for exploring the surrounding area of Ullswater and within an hour you can walk from the cottage to Aira Force. I couldn't fault anything with this cottage. The beds were comfy, with towels provided and the kitchen was very well equipped with all the appliances you need. Dog friendly which is a must for us with dog bowls provided. I would highly recommend this property and would love to stay here again in the future. 5 stars.

The cottage was great - in a lovely, quiet setting - but close to Ullswater, Pooley Bridge, etc.. Very comfortable and well equipped. Chocolates and flowers on arrival was a nice touch. Minor problem with the WiFi sorted out very quickly. All in all a great place to stay - hope to be back!

The description of the property was misleading.. We are still waiting to see the four poster bed which was supposed to be in the master bedroom. Did not exist. The cottage was NOT a 5 persons facility, it had 3 single beds in the 2nd bedroom. With 3 grown up boys it was cramped and uncomfortable. The boiler/heating system was remotely controlled, it was cold on most days We had to call the owners during the stay as the shower and internet did not work. Very disappointed in the accommodation and might not use Sykes holiday cottages again.

This accommodation was lovely, it was very well equipped with dishwasher including tablets and other cooking essentials.. The bathroom was a good size with plenty of toilet rolls and soap. The beds were super comfy and the lounge/ dinner area was lovely in front of the log fire of an evening. The whole house smelt fresh and clean. It was in a good location and quiet. Very enjoyable holiday destination.

The cottage was lovely, clean and comfy.. The only things we missed were a washing machine which would be really handy especially if you're walking and getting muddy and also have kids! There's a dishwasher but to be honest I'd rather spend 15 minutes washing dishes and have a washing machine there instead. Also the Wi-Fi only worked very irregularly, we only really had Wi-Fi for a day or so and it didn't work the rest of the time.
