A lovely cottage tastefully renovated so that there are all mod cons without losing the character. Thick solid walls, beamed ceilings, quirky built in cupboards, wide floorboards, stone flagged kitchen complete with original kitchen range yet still a built-in fridge/freezer and dishwasher, modern cooker, microwave, and all laundry facilities available. Also TV etc but we didn't use any of the entertainment equipment other than books and games.
We stayed as a group, 2 couples and found everything we needed, a very comfortable stay.
There's also a beautiful natural garden, and it's in an interesting area with many varied activities to hand.
We recommend walking on fells, in woodland and along coastal paths, also Ravenglass with L'al Ratty, Haverigg with the Hodbarrow RSPB reserve, Muncaster castle and Broughton-in-Furness.
Lots of pubs nearby serving real ale and varied pub meals, would particularly recommend The Prince of Wales at Foxfield and The Blacksmiths Arms at Broughton Mills, but the 3 pubs in Broughton-in-Furness are also excellent.
