Dromore is a semi-detached property in the village of St Breward near Bodmin. The cottage sleeps six people in three bedrooms which are made up of a double with an en-suite and two twin rooms, one of which can be a super king-size double on request. There is also a shower room, a kitchen, a utility, a sitting room with a dining area and a woodburner and a games room with a pool table and table tennis. Outside there is off road parking for two cars and a lawned garden with furniture. Dromore is a very special cottage in a traditional moorland village to be enjoyed all year round. Area
St Breward is a small village set amongst beautiful countryside in Cornwall, about 7 miles from Bodmin. The village offers all the amenities you will require during your stay with a shop, village hall, church, two playgrounds and a pub. A footpath in the village creates a nice circular loop past the holy well, the church and across the River Camel. Nearby, you can also enjoy the Camel Trail which is popular with both walkers and cyclists and winds its way through the town of Bodmin on its journey to the sea at Padstow.

Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.

We have just returned from a perfect week-long Cornwall break, staying at the Dromore cottage in the village of St Breward. We were met on arrival and shown around. Everything was in good working order and well presented. The lounge was a great space and we also used the garden for late afternoon sunbathing (we had very good weather). We used the games room for pool and darts which was great fun. The enormous thick stone walls which give the cottage its lovely character can impede WiFi in some rooms, but we were quite happy with the coverage it provided us. We didn't use it, but we noted an outside shower and hooks for hosing down wet suits and beachwear. There is a BBQ in the garden. St Breward is well located on top of the moors, perfect for exploring the North Cornwall coast between Boscastle and Padstow. It is a rural location, so expect cows walking down the middle of the road (or standing there looking at your car blankly), and expect some proper country roads (they seem hair-raising at first, but there are always passing places), we even drove across a ford on one trip - but this is the charm of Cornwall. The main roads all go east-west; if you want to go north-south, you have to use the smaller lanes. The Old Inn pub is a gentle 600 metre walk. We allowed 15 minutes to walk it, because there were always things to look at on the way - cows on the common, or an amusing cat sprawled out in the sun. And it is a brilliant holiday pub. The village shop is in the pub car park. Their pasties are enormous and perfect for a day out walking. We will definitely look to return here in a year or two. The cottage and the village had everything we wanted in a peaceful, rural break.

The cottage is lovely really big and comfortable, the only thing we can say is the description regarding the distance to the pub it says 3 minutes it might be if your Usain Bolt but it took us at least 15minutes walk.. We wouldn’t stay in St Brewards again for the simple reason there is nothing to do there, you need to go out in the car everyday, and the roads are single track most of the way into the village but this could be our fault for not doing our research.

There was a downstairs cloakroom not mentioned in description which is very useful.. The cottage was clean and sanitised and we were made to feel very welcome by the owner Mr Hemmings. All the rooms are spacious and well equipped with a small but sunny garden.

For the most part it was a good cottage, but the mattresses hurt everyone's back.. My mother in law used the duvet to relieve pain, husband used duvet from single bed. I was the worst effected, it also aggravated a knee & ankle problem. I slept on the couch 2nd night & was prepared to on 3rd but massive spider on my pillow spoiled the couch for me. I don't know if mattresses are firm or just need changing. But i'm still limping now.

The cottage is beautiful and very clean.. Upon arrival the owner came to greet us and I said how cold it was inside, he said the heating comes on and off during the day and that if I’m cold I could put on a extra jumper,We wasn’t impressed by the remark but thought we just see how it goes. Hence to say the heating went off and we had to use the sofa throws to stay warm. The owner came the next day as I said it too cold and he unlocked a cupboard and changed the settings on the heater unit. I said I’d like it on all night and he told my husband that no one has heating on all night! There also was a ventilation unit blowing cold air into the rooms to which we only realised on Thursday . I would of thought this would of been turned off before our arrival. We contacted Sykes about how we couldn’t put heating on when it was needed and they spoke to the owner. Just make sure you only stay here in the summer months .

We have just come home from this beautiful cottage, fully equipped and in a nice area. The one big issue we had was we had no access to be able to use the central heating as we needed it. On arrival inside it was freezing and the owner told us the heating comes on and off during the day at set times to a comfortable heat. I commented that it wasn’t warm at all and he said “ just put on a extra jumper”. We presumed he was joking until a bit later when we had to use the sofa throws to keep warm. We didn’t want to use the log fire as we had young children in the house. He came round the next day and changed the times to stay on later into the evening. The heater unit is behind a locked door. I’ve never known a heater to be locked away , also cold air was blowing through ceiling vents in the bedrooms too and he told us it was a ventilation system and he could come turn it off, I mentioned to my husband it should of been off before we arrived. We did let the owner know a rough time of arrival so maybe the heating could of been on. My husband is registered disabled so feels the cold more. If you want to holiday there then it’s probably fantastic in the summer but take note the heating isn’t accessible in the colder months. We came home a day early because we wanted to have our creature comforts again. Hence to say we wouldn’t stay again unless the heating is accessible.

Really enjoyed our stay at Dromore - Well laid out house which accommodated 4 adults a toddler & teenager.. The Pool/Ice Hockey Table was a great idea kept the teenager occupied in the evenings . Wood burner also an asset for when it gets a bit chilly as the heating was a little problematic and controlled by the owner so wasn't always as warm in parts of the house when you needed it but it was Summer so not too much of an issue for us. All in all a very pleasant stay. The pub in the village is also a bonus - friendly staff and good pub grub. Had Sunday carvery which was good value for money. Ideally placed to visit the beaches from Polzeath to Padstow. Would definitely book again.

Lovely big cottage in rural setting ideal for our family (4 adults and 2 children 5 and 3).. The games room is a real plus we are now experts at air hockey! There is a children's playground only a few minutes walk away and a pub very near that serves excellent food, make sure you are hungry before you go portions are huge.

Well equipped cottage which was comfortable and spacious.. The village had a great general store which was well stocked and within easy walking distance from the cottage. All bedrooms were light and airy with comfortable beds and lovely bed linen and towels. The kitchen was well equipped with all the modern appliances including a dishwasher, bliss! The owners lived behind the cottage and were really helpful and friendly which was lovely. Certainly a great place and we have booked for next year, can’t wait!

Excellent well appointed cottage.. Very comfortable and spacious. Bonus having a games room and garden. Great location on Bodmin Moor with enjoyable walks. Also great location for exploring Cornwall with main roads close enough to access but far enough away to enjoy the quietness of the countryside. Good local pub with good selection of food with local shop attached. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. Ideal for families with young children. Play area very close to cottage. Would bring a local map next time as some of the sign posts on the Moors missing and sat nav inclined to take you off piste. Made travelling on a motorbike a little precarious at times. Tea, coffee, sugar, milk, fresh eggs, biscuits and local paper waiting on our arrival so very welcoming. So could have a relaxing cuppa whilst waiting for online shopping to be delivered. We had a fabulous time. Thank you

Lovely spacious cosy cottage to stay in. Beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms. The Old Hill pub in the village had a great atmosphere and served hearty meals. Six of us stayed for a long weekend and would certainly return. Within easy reach of Wadebridge and St Austell and the Camel trail.

We had a lovely stay at Dromore, the cottage was immaculate, the owners went above and beyond. Fully equipped kitchen and dining area, lovely cosy living area with a roaring wood burner and after a tiring day. The most comfortable bed rooms, lovely beds and huge en suite bathroom, this place really is gorgeous we had a lovely stay with a very warm welcome and I personally would highly recommend for anyone thinking of staying here.
