Manege Cottage is a well presented retreat within five miles of super beaches, coves and resorts. It makes a superb bolthole for couples seeking a country spot close to coastal attractions.All on the ground floor, the interior has an open plan living area with dining and kitchen area, plus a wet room. There is a little patio area with bijou table for two for sunshine dining and tipples, plus the owners shared garden with lawn and mature flower borders.. Chapel Porth Beach, Porthtowan and Trevaunance Cove at St Agnes are worthy destinations, with good rambling territory and cliff top seascapes. Truro is just seven miles away for the retail fix, magnificent Cathedral and eateries and bars for foody feasts before the theatre or cinema entertainment. Manege Cottage makes a superb romantic escape for exploring Cornwall's hot-spot locations.

Area
Porthtowan is a small village resting on west Cornwalls beautiful coastline, renowned for its Blue Flag beach, which at low tide exposes almost a mile and a half of fine, golden sands. Fringed by impressive granite cliffs, the beach is a popular surfing venue and is lifeguarded during the summer, making it ideal for families. Porthtowan is part of the St Agnes designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and there are some wonderful walks to be found, offering vivid scenery along the South West Coast Path, whether you choose to head east to St Agnes or west to Portreath. The towns of St Ives and Penzance, with their art galleries, restaurants and quaint harbours, are half an hours drive away, whilst Flambards Theme Park, The Cornish Seal Sanctuary in Gweek, and the Goonhilly Satellite Earth Station are just a few of the other diverse attractions scattered around this picturesque region. A great base for a varied family break.

Just returned from a week spent in Manege Cottage and it was exactly as described by Sykes Cottages.. It was a lovely, clean and comfortable cottage in a great location for exploring both the north and south coast lines of Cornwall. Host Roger and his son Justin were most welcoming and indeed the Cornish cream tea on arrival was a very welcome treat after such a long drive. They both made myself, my grand daughter and our little dog very welcome allowing our doggie to wander freely around the extensive and well stocked gardens. Roger is a mine of information, suggesting places to visit and actually showing us one very local cliff top walk with breath taking views that I would never have found myself. The local pub at the end of the road, The Chiverton Arms is a very friendly quirky pub with an excellent menu and the portions are huge. We visit Cornwall quite often and think in future Manege Cottage will be our base, highly recommend.

The property was brilliant .. Everything you needed was there. Very clean, warm and quiet. Owner was there if you needed him and very hospitable. We left our washing behind and he sent it up to us within 2 days and would not let us pay the postage. Will definetly be going back next year.

The owner of the cottage Roger was an excellent host.. All amenities we're supplied everything was equipped lt was a lovely clean cottage. The cottage was in easy location to other parts of Cornwall. we Will definitely stay there again.

Comfortable and well furnished cottage which was well equipped.. Larger than it looked on the web-site. Very pleasant garden area to sit in with lovely rural views. The owner of the cottage was friendly and helpful.

A lovely cottage in a very quiet and peaceful setting .. Well equipped and very clean. In a good position for touring around Cornwall. We used the supermarkets in Truro We really enjoyed our week in manege cottage and can recommend it for a good holiday base.

The directions we received from you were not very clear, the owner told us they were for use with a sat nav which we do not have! on the whole we really enjoyed the holiday.
