Gecko Beach is a superb coastal apartment overlooking the beach at Porthtowan on Cornwall's Atlantic coast. A first floor beach pad for couples, the apartment is on one level and sleeps two people.

Area
Porthtowan is a small village resting on west Cornwall’s beautiful coastline, renowned for its Blue Flag beach, which at low tide exposes almost a mile and a half of fine, golden sands. Fringed by impressive granite cliffs, the beach is a popular surfing venue and is lifeguarded during the summer, making it ideal for families. Porthtowan is part of the St Agnes designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and there are some wonderful walks to be found, offering vivid scenery along the South West Coast Path, whether you choose to head east to St Agnes or west to Portreath. The towns of St Ives and Penzance, with their art galleries, restaurants and quaint harbours, are half an hour’s drive away, whilst Flambards Theme Park, The Cornish Seal Sanctuary in Gweek, and the Goonhilly Satellite Earth Station are just a few of the other diverse attractions scattered around this picturesque region. A great base for a varied family break.

This letting is right on the coastal path, a delight for walkers. Facilities were fabulous, wanted for nothing. Small and cosy space, ideal for a short break.

At first glance the block of beachfront apartments look very dated but when you enter this flat ,it is clear the owner has modernised it with a new looking kitchen and fresh paint.It has two bedrooms but only one is for use .the small open plan kitchen and lounge has a sliding door that opens onto a small balcony facing a child’s playground and beach with hills around.It is a two minute walk to a pub called unicorn and another bar ( sea facing) five min away .We had a lovely week here .It has two beautiful coastal walks on the cliff in either direction.It is in a good location to visit cornwalls numerous attractions looe,polperro, mouse hole , Falmouth , Fowey ( all lovely fishing villages),lands end, Lizard. Only negatives were bed was hard( wooden slats), oven didn’t work (apart from top section so we boiled stuff, or ate out,and the balcony door was very stiff and hard to open/close.Nonetheless the location was fabulous so the small defects did not affect our vacation .It was still value for money in a beautiful part of the country.we would definately stay here again .
