Manor Farmhouse Cottage sits in a peaceful country setting in St Day, one mile from Chacewater village with pubs and shop, and less than five miles from Falmouth resort and the coast. The cottage sleeps four guests in one bedroom and one dining room (pull out bed). There is a ground floor shower room, comfy sitting room and separate kitchen. Outside is a graveled courtyard area with furniture for alfresco dining and barbecues, plus off road parking for two cars. Within a short drive of Falmouth resort, St Agnes with beautiful Trevaunance Cove, Perranporth, Newquay surf and Truro, Manor Farmhouse Cottage makes an excellent base.

Area
St Day was once the mining centre for mid-Cornwall until nearby Redruth took over the title, and you can still see the terraces of granite cottages originally built for the miners. The village was originally named after the little known Saint Day or Dye (better known in Brittany). The village now has a pub and convenience store, as well as a granite, gothic-style church dating back to 1828

Wonderful hosts, nothing was too much trouble.. Nice little touches: fresh flowers, milk, eggs and bottle of wine on arrival. Wonderful location. Lots of information in the cottage of things to do around Cornwall. Locals very friendly and helpful. Beautiful little ports around to visit.

We were met with a welcome pack of fresh scones, homemade jam and clotted cream, plus a bottle red wine, tea, coffee and milk which we felt was a lovely touch.. The cottage was exactly as we had expected from the description and photographs, perfectly placed for the days out that we had planned. The only let down was the weather on one day, but the cottage was a warm and welcoming base to come back teach day. Zoe and Murray were both very friendly and helpful hosts with local information.

Comfortable well appointed cottage, however spoilt by inadequate intermittent heating and atrocious access track.. More suited to summer conditions.
