Area The National Surf Centre, three major beaches, eleven beaches totalling more than seven miles of golden sand, and an inexhaustible supply of rolling surf make Newquay the centre of the UK's surf culture and a haven for beachgoers and water sports enthusiasts. The town also guarantees a memorable vacation with its zoo, sea life centre, and diverse assortment of restaurants and pubs. A gorgeous coastline with towering cliffs, secret coves, and additional beaches is traversed in both directions by the South West Coast Path, a popular route for enthusiastic walkers. Padstow, a charming fishing village and harbour, is only 14 miles away, and it takes 30 minutes to get to Truro, home to the Eden Project, as well as museums, a cathedral, restaurants, and cobblestone streets. Beautiful St Ives and the Tate St Ives gallery are just under an hour distant by car or train.
Region Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.
