A very comfortable and well laid out home away from home for up to 7 people. I went with three friends but it would be equally suitable for families. Spotlessly clean throughout with a lovely fresh ambience. The kitchen is well equipped with modern appliances, utensils, crockery and glassware. The bedrooms were way more than adequate and very comfortable. Two of them have double glazed windows opening out on to a main road. I had one of these and as I like to sleep with the windows open I was a little worried about traffic noise, but need not have been as there wasn't much and I always got a good night's sleep. Both the lounge and dining room were comfortable and well equipped. Mention must be made of the very steep stairs to the first and second floor bedrooms. Part of the character of the property and care must be exercised! The garden is "mature" and during our stay during very hot weather we dined outside a couple of nights – a bonus. At the far end of the garden there is a gate to the car parking area and over the gate was a trained rose in full bloom while we were there. The smell was absolutely fantastic! I'm by no means a keen gardener, but felt motivated to keep it well watered while there. We only ever managed to get one car in the rather awkward parking area and even this was not easy. Not really a problem as there's on-street parking 100m away. A thoughtful welcome pack was provided - and appreciated! We did have one major problem while we were there and found the owners quick to respond and very helpful – in the end it turned out the problem was of our own making! Ammonite cottage is in easy walking distance to the town centre. There is a large Sainsburys, several good pubs and a variety of restaurants. Boat hire on the Frome is available at South Bridge and the Quay is a nice spot to have a beer/coffee and watch the world go past on the river. Wareham is an historic walled town and the best part of the walls (West and North) are very close to Ammonite. Early one morning I was looking north from North walls and was fortunate enough to see an osprey flying west from Poole Harbour along the river Piddle towards its nest site. Wareham is a great location for walking, cycling and local tourist attractions. Overall, a great property in a great location.

This marvelous cottage is the perfect place for a cozy getaway. I went for a weekend trip with my mates and this house was ideal. Warm and welcoming, this house became a home almost instantly. Minutes away from the supermarket / local shops and a short 2 minute walk from the Kings Arms pub, Ammonite cottage is a lovely house in a lovely spot in this lovely corner of England. Now, as a 6'3"+ individual, I really appreciate the fact that I could stand bolt upright in the shower, as well as lie properly in the bed. Highly, highly recommend this area and this house. Having not heard of Wareham before this trip, I am certainly glad to have discovered this gem of a location. The owners of Ammonite Cottage can definitely expect me to be booking to stay again sooner rather than later!

Lovely, very clean comfy cottage with a welcoming bottle of wine. On site parking a real asset. Note the antique fire insurance plaque above the front door. Will leave you to investigate further! Really close to the town centre with a good selection of eating establishments and lots of pubs with real ales! Good bus services to surrounding towns. Good for bird watching at Arne RSPB reserve.

Wareham is a great holiday base with fantastic scenic walking nearby and the town has everything you need .. Ammonite is a comfortable cottage with charming bedrooms and well equipped Kitchen. The extension at the back is perfect to accommodate boots and outdoor clothing and there is a pleasant garden equipped to eat outside. Only one bath/shower room is a limitation and there are low doorways to be aware of. We try to get recycling right but there was not enough info, We worried about traffic noise but it was fine. Overall we had an excellent holiday and would like to do it again.

We had a fantastic week at ammonite cottage.. The welcome pack was really helpful and written in a very friendly way. The location was perfect, nice town and plenty of nearby activities for the kids and us to enjoy. The stairs are tricky for the very young, but with supervision they were fine.

1/ A very pleasant holiday was ruined by 2 Us not being warned when booking that the new tenants were coming at 13.. 30.On our instruction letter we were told we had to be out by11.00. So can you explain why the cleaners were knocking on the door at 09.35.You must realise that up until 11.00 was part of our paid for holiday. So that day was ruined. Please do not ignore this complaint & imform me what you intend to do about it,you must be aware that we are old customers of yours. I await your reply Mr Peter Marsh

The cottage was glorious and had everything anyone would need and more.. We had a fantastic holiday and coming back to the cottage every day was a pleasure. My mother is 87 years old and was perfect for her to be near lots going on but to also be only a little walk away for quiet and to relax at the cottage. We loved the carnival, the food, restuarants, shops and cinema in Wareham and the boats for hire too. We felt like a local and everyone was very friendly. Thank you and we hope to come back again.

The cottage was absolutely beautiful and so clean when we arrived. Each room had a gorgeous little theme and everything was so well thought out. The location was fab with the river close and the bus to Swanage very quick for a day to the beach. The garden was gorgeous and extremely well kept and this is a lovely place to go with friends. I can imagine that it’s very cosy in the winter too and the people in Wareham are so welcoming. Best holiday I’ve had in a long time!!!

We had an amazing holiday in this beautiful house which is full of character, very clean and family friendly. We slept in the Botanical room and the bed was extremely comfortable. I enjoyed cooking (when we weren't eating out) in the well equipped kitchen. The location is ideal, close to everything we needed, good walks, great pubs, lovely bakery, shops and many places of interest. A trip to the traditional old school cinema, The Rex, is a must. Had a great time on the beach (one of many close by), a lovely walk from the very interesting Tyneham Village, with the children even having a dip in the sea (in early April)! Wish we could have stayed longer! Would love to visit Ammonite Cottage again and explore this stunning area some more.
