One of the most clean, welcoming and well equipped cottages we have stayed in, wonderful! Be prepared to carry your belongings a short distance as there is no immediate parking. Highly recommend, we would visit again!

Amazing holiday cottage.. Very well equipped and extremely comfortable. Great arrival to tea and coffee making facilities, biscuits & honey! - very nice touch. You can tell a lot of time, effort and money has gone into making sure guests have a great stay. The parking is a bit of a lottery but there’s plenty of on street parking in the area so it wasn’t a big issue. Great location.

This was my second visit to Church Street in three months as I find it such a lovely cottage in a perfect location for exploring Derbyshire.. The owners are friendly and have made sure the stay in the cottage feels luxurious. I would highly recommend a trip to Matlock and a stay in this idyllic, cosy cottage.

34 Church Street is an absolutely idyllic cottage for exploring the Peak District.. It is well-equipped, beautifully furnished and decorated and in a great location. We were left a bottle of champagne for celebrating the New Year and communication was superb throughout our stay. We really hope to be back.

What a beautiful cottage ! It is charming. Perfectly situated for our needs and a lovely cosy house to come back to at the end of the day. It is furnished to a very high standard. The beds are extremely comfortable. The owners were extremely accommodating. Can not recommend enough.

The property is so comfortable and well equipped and everything was spotlessly clean.. The kitchen equipment was great - how lovely to have sharp knives and be able to cook proper meals! The bed is super comfy and I loved the bedding. The log burner really made it for us and the house was so cosy. It's a great property for basing yourself and exploring the area and Matlock itself provided all we needed. Whilst not a problem for us, parking close to the property can be tricky - it may not suit everyone.

Such a beautiful cottage.. Well equipped with everything we needed. Linda and Geoff were great at keeping in contact and made sure we had everything for our stay. The attention to detail was beautiful, we loved the Christmasy decorations it made our Christmas getaway even more atmospheric and the welcome tea and Christmas bakewells was a lovely touch. Perfect location for us to explore. Lovely walk through park to Matlock. Had a great stay with our 15month old. Would highly recommend this cottage as a home from home.

We had a fantastic stay.. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. Linda was so helpful and checked in to make sure all was ok. The bed was amazing!! The location was perfect, you can walk into Matlock town centre in a few minutes, and everything else is within less than 10 minutes drive. The Duke William pub is a short stroll from the cottage and did a lovely carvery, the owners were very welcoming. Would definitely book again.

Excellent cottage, loved it.. Really pretty cottage with everything needed for a stay. I stayed for a few days and found it an excellent location as only about 10 min walk into the town centre of Matlock and only short drives from Bakewell and Ashbourne. Linda phoned me on the day of arrival (as I booked late) re the key pickup and arrangements were very easy. Now I have found it I would certainly stay again.

September 2019
Very comfortable well equipped cottage , superb bed , very convenient location for exploring the area, the only downside being limited parking which determined the time we returned to the cottage each day to ensure a space , we realise this is beyond the control of the owners but should be mentioned, apart from that an excellent holiday ..

The cottage is perfect in every way. Even as you walk in the door you feel as if it is welcoming you. The cottage has everything you could wish for in comfort and is so very well equipped. The bed in one of the largest I have ever slept in and one of the most comfiest. The photographs do not do this property justice, I just wanted to pack the kitchen up and bring it back with me. In fact I took lots of photographs of the kitchen as we are thinking of redesigning ours at home and liked the layout of this one. The cottage is also perfectly situated to explore the surrounding areas either by walking, buses or taking you car. A lovely walk into Matlock through the park only takes 10 minutes. We used the buses to go to the market at Bakewell, a lot easier than trying to find parking spaces, The Red Lion Inn is only a 2 minute walk away, we would recommend their Sunday Lunch and evening meals.

April 2019
Lovely comfortable cottage, tastefully furnished & decorated throughout with some lovely touches, it was really cold while we were there so we made full use of the log burner, which was really cosy.. The Kitchen is fully equipped & was a pleasure to cook in with some lovely local produce we bought from the Chatsworth farm shop. It’s a few minutes walk into Matlock town & there is plenty to do within a short drive of the cottage. Perfect rest for us for a few days & I'm sure we’ll be back to make use of the garden in warmer weather. The owners make you very welcome & ensure you have everything you need at the cottage without being at all intrusive.

We used the cottage for a long weekend in November. It's well positioned, close to the centre of Matlock. There are plenty of scenic walks straight from the front door. It is a lovely well-equipped cottage with a very welcoming wood burner in the lounge. It has the largest bed I have ever slept in, and one of the most comfortable too. We're already looking to make another booking for next year.

Our stay was made by the first class cottage everything was well presented with such a homely feel.. The added extras of groceries and toiletries to start us off was a nice surprise. We had a great time.. The cottage is lovely, immaculately clean and well presented and with some lovely touches (eg Easter eggs left for our children) provided by the owners Linda and Geoff who were extremely helpful. Couldn’t fault it.

January 2018
This was a beautiful little cottage.. It was very clean, charming and beautifully presented. The kitchen was excellent, well stocked with everything we needed. The main bedroom was extremely comfortable, fluffy towels, lovely bed linen. It was easy access for our hobbies of running and cycling. Short stroll to the village. The only thing I would suggest is instructions for getting the most from the log burner as we struggled to get the burner going and stay burning and so the front room was cold. No bother though as we wrapped a blanket around us on the sofa. We will definitely be back as had a wonderful weekend.
Ms Price, January 2018
