Cottage had a foisty old smell, there was mould on the ceilings, mould in the corner behind the bin, mattress was filthy, sofa was creeky, strange hole in the living room carpet Overall the cottage needs updating , cleaning and modernising

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at this property and it is good value and cosy.. The location is perfect. The heating in the property has improved from last year and we were nice and warm. A couple of improvements would be a new mattress in the main bedroom as it is a bit lumpy. Also, WiFi would be great as the mobile phone signals are not always good in the area and we had to go to the pub or cafe to access WiFi. The instructions in the house could be better. We could not find a recycling box so had to put our recycling in the bin which was a shame. However, we do love the Laigh Isle complex and would not hesitate in staying here again.

The property was warm comfortable and clean.. Location is great for walks from the door around the coast. Good base for exploring Dumfries and Galloway. Village is nice and friendly, the local community tea room and shop stock the basics. if you want a peaceful relaxing holiday this is ideal. Would definitely go back.

We have stayed at 3 Laigh Isle before.. It is well laid out and comfy. Some firmer pillows would make it just perfect as the bed is very comfy. We love these little cottages and are considering buying one. Please thank the owner and tell him to contact us if he ever wants to sell. The Isle of Whithorn is a beautiful and friendly place and the area is very unspoilt. Our favourite place in the whole of Scotland.

Had a fantastic week.. House was clean and tidy. Had information leaflets in the house to let you know what was happening in the area. The owner left a new milk and packet of biscuits for us which was a lovely gesture. Would highly recommend. Many thanks.

It was a wonderful accomodation with everything in and functioning ( the only improvement might be a little deep freeze compartment ? !). We enjoyed being there for a fortnight. That Isle of Whithorn is very lovely, but also very lonely which we knew beforehand. Although we had planned being there and walking with our dog which we had to put to sleep two months before, we made beautiful hiking tours and had a very recreating time in this house and Whithorn. The house was in very good order and the communication with our landlord worked out fine.

No problems at all - well-equipped, clean, comfortable with close pub and shop, plus friendly neighbours.. Only slight downside is no wifi, although this was cheerfully provided by the local pub. Don't expect wild nightlife (although there's plenty of night wildlife), but if you're after peace and quiet and plenty of fresh air, it's just the place. Except on Tuesdays, when the contractor mows the grass...

The property and its location was very good and great for a relaxing holiday.. Just a lick of paint needed on the chalet and garden furniture, apart from that we are highly satisfied.

The cottage was situated within a beautiful area and the complex was very well appointed and maintained. Due to the isolation of the cottage it was very quiet at night leading to a good nights sleep.

Warm and cosy, this was a perfect base to explore the lovely Isle of Whithorn and the surrounding area. It was a very easy 'home from home' for our short break, with lots of hot water for showers on return from a hard day's walking, and an evening of chill out film nights.

An excellent cottage on a private estate. There is good coastal walking and nearby forestry commission walks and the pub on the harbour had excellent meals and Camra awards.

The cottage was in a nice area. Very disappointed with the kitchen area, wasn't as clean as it could have been, the cooker wasn't very nice and the utensils needed to be washed.
