Like many people we decided to holiday in the UK this year and chose this cottage as it was a reasonable distance for all our family to meet. This is a property with a high standard of finish and appointments, in an excellent location to explore mid Wales. The lovely owners (Catherine and Rheinallt) live next door and left an excellent and delicious hamper full of locally produced goods as means of a welcome which was very much appreciated. The living areas are all comfortably appointed - living room with log burner seating seven -piano room -dining room seating seven -kitchen with fridge freezer and dishwasher - the bedrooms all have their own TV (beds are comfy too!). There is also a utility room with a washing machine and a fridge for beer - there is really nothing you need to take with you other than food! The enclosed patio area at the rear has a gas barbecue as well. There is a pub 50 mtrs across the road and a convenience store about 200 mtrs walk away in the village. Borth is about 5 miles away and Aberystwyth about 7 miles. Will definitely return in the future

Stayed here with family for the week. What a wonderful place, beautiful property, spacious, spotless, high standard of decor. Would love to live here! Comfy bed, huge deep cleopatra style bath, Lovely touch was the welcome hamper, 2 pubs nearby and close to borth and Aberystwyth. Friendly owners, beautiful setting overlooking fields full of sheep at the rear. The patio was nice to sit at on the evening with a bottle of wine. Already booked to come again next year!

I have used Sykes for many holidays but this was the best, the cottage was better than the advert and pictures.. very spacious and finished to a very high standard. the location was perfect, 7 miles from Aberystwyth and many places to walk locally. we are already looking to book this place again.

Although the weather was terrible that did not affect our stay mostly thanks to the wonderful accommodation and the great local pub next door.. The accommodation was amazing. Every detail had been thought of. Even the photos do not do it justice. A lovely place to stay with family and friends. This is the best place we have stayed in. We will return when the weather is better to explore the countryside. There are lots of walks in the surrounding area that we would like to try. Also Aberystwyth and Machynlleth are not far. The pub has a great landlady and the food is good and plentiful, not forgetting over 100 different gins to try.

The home was lovely and clean .. It was clear that a lot of effort had gone into ensuring comfort and convenience by the attention to detail. The home was furnished to a high standard with all the equipment and facilities to make you feel at home. The welcome pack with local produce was a particularly nice touch. Catherine was on hand to ensure our stay was comfortable. While we were there, the TV in the master bedroom broke down. Catherine was there within the hour to try to sort it and when she couldn’t, immediately got people in to replace it that same morning. We wanted to get some salt marsh lamb while there and we asked Catherine where we could source it. Not only did she call around the local butcheries on that same day but even the next day until she found one for us. She was more than helpful. A great holiday all round, highly recommend it! The views st the back of the house are lovely and you can hear the stream running at the back!

Cottage was lovely, very clean and as described.. There were just a few minor things that would have helped - lack of soap or shower gel, only 1 tea towel, limited washing up liquid or dishwasher tablets, microwave too remote to kitchen, lack of condiments, concern re raised ironwork on drive. Only minor issues, we were very pleased overall.

Beautiful barn conversion which has been renovated to an extremely high standard.. We were two families staying last weekend, and really felt at home there. Thanks to Catherine for providing us with a lovely Welsh produce hamper on arrival which was a lovely touch. Would highly recommend this property to anyone looking at it.
