Y Sgubor is a stone built detached cottage on a working sheep farm, two miles from the village of Llangynog. This cottage sleeps twelve people in five bedrooms, consisting of one king-size double, one single with en-suite shower room, one family room with 1 king-size double, 1 single day bed and en-suite shower room, one double, one twin and one bedroom with a pull out double stacker bed. The cottage also has a bathroom, ground floor basin and WC, kitchen with dining area, utility, sitting room with dining area and woodburning stove and a second sitting room with woodburning stove and French doors. Outside this cottage has off road parking for 5 cars and an enclosed garden. With views of the valley and a mountain range, Y Sgubor is an ideal holiday home for friends and families.

The village of Llangynog is set in the Berwyn Mountains and is surrounded by wooded hills and valleys. The village has two pubs, both of which serve good food and the area is excellent for walks and cycle rides.

Excellent cottage, which was spotlessly clean, and very well equipped for a large group.. 2 living rooms were ideal for our group. Large American fridge freezer in the kitchen, and another fridge in the utility room was very good. The Hot Tub was fabulous for all and our two Grandchildren loved it. The beds were all solid with good mattresses and very comfortable. We always had plenty of hot water. The owners were lovely, very friendly and they even brought their border collie puppies to show my 3 year old grandson. I would definitely recommend this cottage.

Set in the most stunning surroundings, the barn was beautiful, spacious and extremely clean! Mr and Mrs Smith were happy to help with any questions we had and were quick to help when we had a problem after a power cut due to a storm. Everything has been thought of with this property having a variety of books, DVD’s, games which came in handy with the weather we had. Also plenty of kitchen equipment with a lovely gesture of a welcoming cake on arrival. The hot tub was a huge bonus and was kept clean and checked every morning. Really lovely cottage, had great fun in the hot tub.. Perfect size cottage for our group size of 8 adults and 2 children under 2yrs. Will probably try and find a cottage for our next friends get together somewhere a bit closer to things to do. Also not an easy place to find in the dark, would recommend people make sure to arrive in the daytime.

This is our third stay and as usual was a wonderful stay.. Mr and Mrs Jones were as helpful as ever and the accommodation and surrounding area is beautiful. Cottage is very well maintained and is very well equipped.Would highly recommend the property and will visit again.Hot tub was fantastic and very clean, the views from this are amazing.If you want to get away from it all then this is perfect,but not too far away. Lake Vrnwy is worth a visit and we had a lovely meal at the local hotel.

I wanted to alter the venue but it would have cost me £400 to do so.. As a result my family could only stay for four days instead of a week and we left the venue the day before planned. Because of your 'offer' (which meant only a small deposit was required) we couldn't enjoy a full week away without it costing me additional hundreds of pounds.

What an amazing place to stay. Even better than the pictures. As a group of friends that are also keen walkers we go on holiday together a couple of times a year and have been doing so for the past 8 years. This is certainly a contender for the best place we've ever stayed. Ticked all our boxes and then some. Living accommodation is ideal, lots of space but still feels like a cosy cottage too. Plenty of seating for everyone (not as common as you would think). Owners were nearby - helpful and friendly but not intrusive. The hot tub is huge and I can't imagine you will find a better view anywhere else. Beautiful walks from the door, proper country pubs down the lane, animals everywhere - the number of pheasants at this time of year are quite a spectacle. Perhaps annoying if you lived there, but we loved them. If you want somewhere peaceful and remote - no phone signal, limited Wifi, then this is the absolute perfect place. We got back last week and are all missing the place a lot. I cannot recommend it enough.

The barn conversion was perfect for our large group of 10 adults and 3 dogs.. Downstairs is so spacious - at one end of the building is a lovely snug area that easily seated 8 people and had a log burner which heated the whole of the downstairs. The large kitchen was fully equipped with everything for cooking meals and the large table seated all of us for breakfasts. At the other end of the building is the fantastic living room/dining room with 3 large settees and 2 chairs so plenty of space for everyone. The dining table was great for gathering around for our evening meal. Upstairs the 5 bedrooms were more than adequate for our group - 2 were ensuite and the main bathroom had a lovely roll top bath and large walk in shower. The barn is located in a very remote area at the end of a 2 mile single track lane. This suited us perfectly as it was lovely to get away from everything and be surrounded by beautiful countryside. The views were stunning and it was great to sit in the hot tub and and look across at the hills and relax. We walked the 2 miles back to the village and enjoyed a couple of hours in The New Inn where we were welcomed by the locals and had a sing along. I will definitely book again.

Lovely rural setting, miles from anywhere so very quiet.. Several walks around the area straight from the cottage and many more a short car ride away. The hot tub was a real bonus but it did switch itself off a couple of times although the farmer fixed it straightaway. Highly recommended.

The cottage was more than we expected - absolutely gorgeous and perfect for our needs.. 9 adults, 15month old and 3 dogs! We had booked Y Sgubor for a family birthday celebration and are enormously thankful to Mr and Mrs Jones for preparing the cottage for us, dealing with an online delivery and for being so quick to deal with a slight problem we encountered with fencing. We cannot praise them highly enough. Looking forward to staying here again at some point.

We had an amazing week at Yscubor.. We met up with family there for our son’s wedding and then spent a week exploring. The house is well equipped and very comfortable. A beautiful, clean, comfortable holiday home! Hot tub is always a winner with gorgeous views and the sounds of countryside. Dogs barking on the first morning from about 4am was a pain. There were nine of us that either spent 2 or 3 nights there which meant large meals and LOTS of washing up. So for us to find the dishwasher not working was frustrating but to have only one single dish cloth to wash everything was also not good. Otherwise, absolutely SPOT-ON!!

We arrived when snow had blocked the lane up to the cottage.. Mr Jones did a fantastic job moving our stuff (we had allot) to the cottage using his quad bike. The cottage was cosy and warm but with lots of space. Underfloor heating lovely. Great views in general, especially from the hot tub.

The owners are so helpful and provided a Christmas Tree for us, which really made our stay. The hot tub was the icing on the cake. We had the most wonderful time at y sgubor for a family Christmas.. When we arrived we were greeted with a home made hamper of goodies and we were shown around the house and everything was explained to us. The house was absolutely perfect for what we needed and had enough space for all of us...and more! The only thing we had an issue with during the week was the beds and 50% found that they couldn’t sleep well or woke up with back ache but the other half of us were fine so I think that’s just down to Home comforts. On our last day we were snowed in and the lovely couple in the house next door were so helpful. The lovely gentleman used his tractor to hold back all of our cars from sliding down the hill (one van and 3 cars). He spent a good couple of hours helping us and it was very much appreciated. We all had an absolutely magical Christmas and will definitely be returning in another couple of years. Thank you

Absolutely gorgeous cottage ! !! Equipped with every possible utensil ever required :D Lovely surroundings & brilliant hot tub which is in a lovely garden area. Plenty of space for a big party in the house, which is absolutely immaculate ! My boyfriend & I drew the lucky straw and stayed in the family room which is just stunning, with its own walk in wardrobe! The surrounding countryside is outstanding, the view from the hot tub is truly beautiful. Very spacious, well planned internal facilities, warm and cosy. The kitchen had every amenity and we arrived to find a bara-brith on the table, very welcoming. Internet radios in each sitting room, plenty of wood for the wood burning stoves, well organised recycling. Thoroughly recommend it for a large family get together.

This place is fantastic and well worth booking, I loved the fact there was no mobile phone signal so no one from work could get hold of me! The walks from the barn are brilliant, we did an evening walk up the hill and the views were stunning and a walk down to the local pub and a round robin to the oldest church in Wales and back to our place which took about 4 hours. The owners are lovely and were on hand if we needed them, the dogs and sheep were great to hang out with and the barn itself was amazing, very clean and well looked after. We had 7 adults, 3 dogs and a baby and we were all entertained for the whole week. If you want a relaxing break away from everything then this is the place to visit. It really felt like a home from home, with the house immaculately furnished and clearly no expense spared. The hot tub really did make it for us! The owners lived just far enough away to give us our own space, but close enough that I could lend some tonic from them! They are lovely people, even unpacking our food shop for us before we got there - a real credit to the property! We would all come back in a heartbeat!

Love this place stayed last year for my 40th and this year for my sisters 40th. It's spotless, home form home and more, I want to move in. Love Emmrys and his wife, spend more time outside in the fields with The kids and the sheep than indoors. The views are stunning and the surrounding countryside is great for lovely walks. You don't need to leave the lodge. My parents and relatives have booked already for a week. We can't stay away !

This is our second visit and this place is amazing. It is spotlessly clean and has everything to make your stay a fantastic one. The scenery is exactly like the pictures and this cottage is just so well equipped with everything that you would need. If you want to just chill out and relax then this is the place, however there are some beautiful walks and activities nearby. I would highly recommend a stay here and the owners are a delight. This is great for groups and there are 2 lounges, with one at either end so the kids can be in one and the adults in the other !! Will be visiting again.

We booked Y Sgubor as part of my wifes 40th Birthday celebrations. We were a party of 10 including 4 under 8 children. The location was excellent for a getaway from the hustle of life. What made it especially good was the interaction with the farmer who let the kids feed the sheep. We actually felt like part of the furniture when we left. Already booked for next year.

The hot tub is a major bonus. Although right next door to the owners and very accessible when required they just carried on their working life. Recommend activities white water rafting in Bala and cycling round Lake Vyrnwy. Already planning a return trip, highly recommend .

We stayed here last week, nine of us and a dog. It's well off the beaten track and the snowy hills were absolutely beautiful. We were all enthralled by the new born lambs in the fields and the adjacent barn. Mr Jones and his team were generous to a fault in allowing the younger members of the party to hold them. The house is very well furnished and equipped. Minor issues were quickly and effectively dealt with by Mrs Jones. We loved the space available and made full use of it, including the hot tub. The walk up into the hills from the farm is phenomenal and our spaniel was happy to be off his lead on such different territory. It wouldn't though suit a dog who might chase sheep. I'd go back there in a heartbeat.

We all had such a fantastic time staying with Mr and Mrs Jones in their beautiful house. The extreme snow meant that we had to rely on them to help us get to and from the house and they were so willing to help at every turn, we couldn't have asked for better service! The house and hot tub were superb and we can't wait to come again in better conditions to see more of the beautiful countryside.

The was an amazing cottage with excellent facilities. The hot tub topped it off. Our best moments were after MTB cycling all day to come back, have a warm shower and then drink a cold beer in the hot tub while watching the ice form and stars twinkle.

The cottage was extremely well equipped and was perfect for our group weekend to celebrate a friend's birthday. Having the second sitting room and TV proved very useful.

There wasn't anything we didn't like about our holiday. The hot tub was the icing on the cake. There was every need catered for and more. Tranquillity and beautiful views. A perfect setting for a perfect holiday.
