Area The pretty coastal village of Ferryside is a thriving community that still retains its village atmosphere. With a wonderful sandy beach, a general store, cafe, Post Office and pub, the village has a full range of amenities for visitors. Regular trains stop in the village providing easy access to Camarthen, Pembrey or Llanelli and the wide range of attractions in the region. The busy market town of Camarthen has plenty of shops, tea-rooms, restaurants and pubs to choose from while a visit to Pembrey Country Park, with its sandy beach, toboggan run and dry ski slope, is a great day out for all the family. There are castles, craft centres and mills across the landscape as well as the mysterious Merlin's Hill Centre, shrouded in myth and legend and rich in wildlife. With walks from the doorstep and the cycle trail at the Millennium Coastal Path close by, this is a perfect a base for a relaxing or an active holiday for the whole family.
Region Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.
We had a wonderful stay at Y Garth.. The cottage was very clean and cosy, and I loved the quirkyness of it. Great selection of books, and I particularly liked being able to read up on castles before we visited them. It was more spacious than it appeared in the photos; there were 5 of us, 3 adults and 2 teens, and we never felt cramped. The village shop is excellent and open long hours, and the beach lovely.

A lovely little cottage; simple, comfortable and cosy.. Ferryside is a lovely place too with a great beach for walking. It's not touristy at all, just a lovely little seaside village, a great place to get away from it all. Our host was very hospitable and helpful.

The owner had clearly put a lot of effort into making the cottage comfortable and welcoming.. I appreciated that she got milk in for when we arrived.

Location was lovely, Ferryside was a perfect spot.. Although it’s not hugely convenient for large supermarkets, the Coop in Kidwelly is fine. I liked the fact that Ferryside is off the tourist trail, the beach was quiet and a couple of minute walk from the cottage. It could be perfectly doable to leave your car behind here too. There were regular trains to Carmarthen and Llanelli/Swansea and the cycle route to Kidwelly/Llanelli/Swansea is pretty flat and easy though not so to Carmarthen though!
Everything was great and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at y garth, could do with a bit of an update on cooker bt otherwise a wonderful week, lovely village and friendly pub, dog also enjoyed the lovely beaches, would book again..
