This cottage is a spacious airy house suitable for larger families and has parking. Unfortunately it was let down on our stay by a poor standard of cleaning, a broken bed and previous occupants' dirty towel and underwear found in one of the draws - yack! Black mould covered the tiles in the en-suite bathroom, which we had to clean off with bleach before we could use it. A number of the radiators had a yellow layer of dust and hairs under the grated covers, which was a rather unpleasent; and the conservatory glass was covered in smears where a dirty cloth? had seemingly been used to wipe them. We found the pull out bed broken on our arival and informed the "contact" As we didn't want people coming in on our stay, we did say we would just manage. The peddle bin foot pedal was broken, as was one of the push down knobs on the toaster. We were informed we would be provided with clear sacks for the bed linen and towels, but none were present and when we again approached the contact number given, we were promised some; but alas none arrived. As the cottage is on the only through road it does experience a lot of traffic noise from early until late and the double glazing was not able to filter the noise. The cottage had not been long available again after restrictions were eased after lockdown; but it was clear the owners had not taken advantage of the lockdown to give the cottage a deep clean, freshen up some tired paintwork, or make sure everything was in good working order. In summary; this cottage looks great on the pics, but in reality is let down by a poor cleaning regime, traffic noise and not being kept to the standards one would expect. A real shame.

This was a fantastic property and I would definitely return. The house was spotless and there was plenty of space for everyone. The rooms were huge and the main bathroom had a beautiful standing bath. The kitchen had everything we needed for the week with a great sized oven. The decking outside was great to sit on with comfortable outdoor furniture. There was also a wooded area and fields only a couple of minutes walk from the house which was ideal for dog walking.

Wynnstead is a stunning house in a great location.. It comfortably housed 5 adults (32yrs-70yrs) 2 children (6yrs and 10yrs) and 1 dog for a week and there were no parking issues for our two cars. The freshly baked scones and jam were also a lovely touch. The beach and village (full of many shops and pubs) was only a 5-10minute walk away but there are car parks next to the beach for those who would find walking this distance tricky. Combe Martin is a very pretty village with many stunning walks on its doorstep. It is also in a very central location for those wishing to explore North Devon. I would definitely recommend Wynnstead to my family and friends.
