The beautiful Manifold Valley offers further walking opportunities with the "Manifold Trail" – an excellent route through superb scenery for walkers and cyclists.

A lovely warm welcome and a cosy well equipped cottage.. Kids loved seeing the chickens and ducks wandering around. We all enjoyed watching the squirrel and woodpecker on the feeder in the garden! Fab holiday, wouldn't hesitate in recommending. Not to be published.... please note the listing on Sykes needs to be changed to make it clear laundry facilities are no longer available.

This was an extremely comfortable cottage with very friendly helpful hosts .. It was easy to find using the sat nav which took us straight there although we had also been sent excellent directions. The place was spotless and the beds comfortable .There seemed plenty of room as this cottage is well laid out. We are 2 older ladies and it was very suitable as it is all on the ground floor but it would also suit families as it seemed safe and there appeared to be places to play - it would be a good opportunity to introduce children to many different bird species which visited the garden daily -just wonderful to watch !! The only improvement would be an upgrade on the Wi-Fi particularly as the 3g and 4g signal is so poor in the area but on the up side we couldn't spend the evenings doing emails !!

The owners of wren cottage Mr and Mrs Lowe were amazing nothing was to much trouble , down to milk when we arrived and fresh farm eggs to our door.. Cottage spotless , so cosy and comfortable beds.Constant hot water . Lovely situation on the farm, cockerel and hens with little chicks outside the door. Parking next to cottage . A well supplied bird table outside the window shear heaven. Thank you will tell everyone to go ..

Lovely well equipped cottage in a beautiful location.. Although small, it has not been cluttered up with unnecessary "stuff" so it feels bigger than it actually is. Owners were very friendly and approachable. We loved sitting on the patio listening to the birds and sheep. Watching the numbers of different birds visiting the feeders outside the patio doors was better than t.v.

From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the owner Farmer Robert Lowe we just had a feeling that this would be an outstanding holiday.. The cottage was just charming though quite small, 'bijou' in fact, but that did not detract from it's charm.Mr Lowe showed us round and ensured that we had everything we needed, then told us that we could go anywhere on the farm that took our fancy, we could not imagine that we would need anything in addition to what was in the cottage, it was extremely well found, and proved to be very comfortable indeed. My wife, who is extremely 'fussy' was heard to say "Excellent, excellent, excellent.", Three E's from her is praise indeed. What else can I say?

A wonderful location on a working farm, with great views both in the distance and also immediately outside the cottage, where there are hens, a cat and a couple of dogs all wandering around, together with a multitude of birds using the bird feeder.. Inside the cottage had everything we needed. All the family were very friendly. The only minor drawback was the poor WiFi and internet signal (which we knew about in advance.)

The cottage is in a perfect setting and location. It is exceptionally well equipped with everything (and more) we could possibly have needed for a 'home away from home' stay in a warm and comfortable holiday home. The owners are only too happy to help with anything and made our stay a very happy one! We would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to get away from their busy lives as you can completely unwind, get away from it all and enjoy the countryside experience.

Cosy, comfortable, well-equipped cottage which was far superior in every way to other properties we've previously rented. Beautiful location with lots of interesting places to visit locally without having to spend a lot of money. Friendly, welcoming owners who made sure we had everything we needed. We were allowed to watch lambing and there were lots of interesting birds which were attracted to the bird feeders near the patio. Weather was good too. We all had a great time.

The owners who live on the working farm were so welcoming. The real plus of this compact cottage is the access to the animals, we saw lambs being born and it's a dream for anyone wanting to see farming in action.
