The cottage was very well stocked especially with kitchen cooking equipment.. Comfortable and not too small. Personally for us one less armchair in the livingroom and a small table and chairs for two up along side the wall shared with the kitchen would have made it perfect (the folding one provided which you had to move into the centre of the lounge was ok).

Lovely snug cottage just right for the two of us.. So close to the best of Pateley Bridges facilities

The listing could be a lot clearer about the fact that there is no parking near the property.. The property is only really small dog friendly and the tiny back yard is not enclosed, which meant that we had to put our dog on a lead and take her over the road at the front of the house to do her business between walks. It would have been better if the owner had switched the heating on for us the day before we arrived, the property was cold and due to combination of circumstances involving a switch being turned off by the engineer and the instructions for operating the boiler not being the best we ended up with central heating upstairs but none downstairs. Fortunately there was a small electric radiator and the open fire, but that little welcoming gesture would have saved a lot of trouble. The owner went out of her way to help us with the heating and overall it was a comfortable break.

This small mid-terrace house is not really a cottage, but it is every bit as charming and cozy.. Well-provisioned and appointed, it is also centrally located in the village, just off the high street. Suitable for a couple, or a solo traveler, space is tight but adequate. Those with mobility issues would be challenged by the tight, steep stairs. The owner is responsive, caring and most helpful, and her generous welcome basket and milk in the fridge make a great start to what should be a delightful stay!

The cottage is in the ideal situation just of the Main Street and within easy access to many all ability walks, cafes/tea rooms serving all kinds of snacks and treats and pubs that serve delicious meals, two excellent butchers and a bakers shop..

Winn Cottage was ideally located for its location just adjacent to Pateley Bridge High Street.. There are some lovely shops in the village (make sure to check out the craft units in the Old Workhouse as they are not well publicised). Inexplicably, a number of interesting looking shops (arts, crafts, antiques etc) didn't open once in the time we were there! We had decent basic pub grub over the bridge at the Royal Oak and better quality but a more expensive evening meal at The Crown. The cottage is an old building yet has been equipped and furnished with pretty much everything that you would want or need. The stairs are steep and curve tightly but are manageable. The kitchen is small but everything is to hand. The living room has one small 2-seater and 2 arm-chairs. It is not the most comfortable. And for some reason the TV is fastened to the wall at the upper height of the wall so it is a bit of a strain on the neck to watch. Overall it is a characterful and comfortable cottage for a short stay. There is one negative to note. The owner's of this cottage have been badly let down by some previous visitors who must have ignored the No Smoking restriction. There was a very heavy and noticeable odour of cigarettes, especially in the living room and the soft furnishings on which you sat. It was quite nauseating. Sykes contacted the owner and their response was very good. But whoever hired this cottage and blatantly disregarded the rules acted very selfishly and shamefully.

Mind head in doorways, bed could have been longer, everything else was spot on.. Pateley bridge is lovely with two good pubs and eating places, especially harefield hall,Ollie's place and high street fisheries, if you like to hike look no further, will return.

Cottage is practically on the lovely high street, it could not be any closer, but still very quiet as it's in a narrow one way street..

What a cosy spot Winn Cottage is.. Very well equipped and 2 minutes away from the high street. A lot of thought has been given to the layout by the owner who obviously deals with it personally. It was home from home on a smaller scale and we had a lovely 4 night break.

Centrally located, compact cottage, in Pateley Bridge - a stones throw from shops, pubs, the river Nidd and beautiful countryside for walking.. Thoughtful welcome pack provided and everything you could ask for within, making it home from home. Lots of local information and recommendations for the area. Thank you.

We made a long weekend of it.. Can't fault Winn Cottage which is in a great location, although no parking we found no difficulty in finding a space during a bank holiday weekend. Cottage was just the right size for the two of us and our Jack Russell, Scampi. Kitchen was well equipped and although compact we found no difficulty in knocking up a couple of meals. Overall the cottage was clean and well kept, helpful instructions if needed, plenty of storage space for clothes which is always a bonus for those of us who find it impossible to travel light!!! As we were walking one massive bonus, although I'd already purchased one, was the OS map which is the first one we have come across in any cottage we've booked before, very thoughtful and more owners should take note. Pateley Bridge is a great centre with all the amenities you could require, very dog friendly, Scampi enjoyed the crack in the Crown and Royal Oak and especially the ladies (and cake!!) in The Coffee House located in King's Court. He also like to press his nose up against Kendall's window which is a must for any visitor. Plenty of good walks for those inclined, we did Brimham Rocks circular one day and then Bewerley heritage walk taking in Cold Stones Cut the next. For those who prefer a bit of retail therapy close enough to the bright lights of Harrogate. Winn Cottage is definitely on our list of cottages to return to in the future.

This is a great little cottage in a fantastic spot.. It is by far one of the best cottages we've stayed in in our last five years of "staycating" since we got our dog. The living room is cosy however if you like to spend your evenings watching tv then this might be the only shortcoming. The tv is in a bit of an awkward spot in relation to the sofa but does have loads of channels. The kitchen is very clever in its layout with loads of utensils and every pot, pan, plate you could need. The bedroom is well furnished and comfortable and there is a good central heating system if you don't want to use the log burner. The bathroom is clean and like the rest of the cottage isn't lacking in anything - bath, shower, good water pressure etc. We usually bring loads of food with us on holiday just in case we can't find a decent butchers etc but this really wasn't needed here. Pately Bridge has a fantastic and welcoming High Street with everything you need to eat at home as well as a great choice of pubs and restaurants if you prefer to eat out. A truly perfect cottage in my opinion, I wouldn't hesitate in recommending and I can't wait to go again.

Both myself and my partner had a fantastic time at Winn Cottage it was just what we wanted.. It was clean & tidy with everything we might need for a 6 night stay, the welcome pack was lovely, as was the town of Pateley Bridge (Thoroughly enjoyed our pub crawl round the 2 pubs on News Years eve. The local people were fab.) The heating system needed some tinkering with, but once we had got used to it, it was no problem at all. Would happily book Winn Cottage again and return to Pateley Bridge. Many thanks, Simon.

Main things are: Heating worked fine and fire was easy to make with all materials provided.. Really important at this time of year. Cottage contained all equipment required and some lovely provisions were provided by the owner too. Thank you. Very thoughtful. All tourist guides/leaflets are up to date and really useful for days out. Instruction leaflet supplied by owner also very clear and most useful. Would highly recommend a stay at this lovely cottage. Finally thank you to the young man at Sykes who organised this last minute booking over the phone. He was particularly helpful and courteous throughout the booking process.
