Property Description

Robin Hood s Bay is a quaint village, well known to long distance walkers because it s at the eastern end of Alfred Wainwright s famous walking route, the Coast to Coast Walk. Situated 3 miles from the barn, Robin Hood s Bay offers a delightful selection of pubs and small shops, ensuring you have everything you need for your relaxing break. The fishing industry has prevailed in Robin Hood s Bay and there is still a fishmonger s in the village where you can buy freshly landed seafood. In the wider area, make sure you take a day trip to Whitby, 6 miles away. The ruins of the 13th century St Hilda s Abbey on East Cliff dominate views across the River Esk and make a stunning spot for a photograph. Whitby also has excellent literary associations through the works of Lewis Carroll and Bram Stoker, whose novel Dracula was partly set in the coastal town. Stepping through the front door of this gorgeous, detached single level barn conversion, you feel at home immediately. First of all, you will encounter the lovely kitchen which comes complete with a retro style fridge, electric oven and gas hob, and a dishwasher. There s a handy breakfast bar in the kitchen for meal times. Next door is the dual aspect lounge which centres around a wood burner and a TV and DVD player. It s the perfect hideaway for relaxing and recuperating after a day of touring. There s also a fine selection of books and board games to dive into if you fancy a tech detox and plenty of comfortable seating to curl up on. The bedroom is an airy and restful double with floor storage space and capacity to hang your clothes. The bathroom is furnished with a walk in monsoon shower and vintage style decoration to impress. Outside you can enjoy a morning cuppa or a glass of wine as the sun sets over the countryside in the enclosed pretty cottage courtyard. There is a communal car park, offering parking for two cars for both properties.
