When my wife and I arrived at this property we were delighted at its situation...a quiet rural scene...just what we were looking for. As soon as we entered the property we knew that we had picked an amazing holiday home. There is a large lounge beautifully furnished, very comfortable with a very large TV set. The kitchen was very well kitted out containing everything that you would need. Our bedroom had an enormous bed, extremely comfortable. There is a lovely toilet, shower room adjoining the bedroom. The decor throughout the property was of a very high standard. Clean and very tastefully done. Outside there is a timber table and chairs for outdoor eating and drinking...we used this a lot. We were visited often by beautiful young cattle in an adjoining field. We really were delighted with this holiday home. Only downside is a bit picky on my part...there was a very poor mobile phone signal within the house...but I suppose that helped to give us a quieter stay.

This is the second time we have visited this cottage.. We planned a quiet relaxing break and it is just perfect for that. Situated in a very quiet area with lovely scenery. The owners are nearby and are helpful when called upon. The cottage itself is well equipped and furnished to a high standard and really does feel like home from home.

The cottage is very comfortable and peaceful and furnished to a very high standard.. The owners who live adjacent are very welcoming and helpful. The setting is very attractive with cattle for neighbours and the location good for visiting many local attractions. Future guests should be aware of the very narrow lane from the direction of the A1(M) beyond Roecliffe.

Just wow! we stay at a lot of holiday cottages and Westwick Edge is easily one of the best we have had the pleasure of visiting. The location is idyllic, if you want complete peace and quiet away from the world then this is the cottage for you. Although it is attached to the owners property you would never know, as you dont hear a peep from the main building, Jane and John are lovely hosts and strike the perfect balance of making you feel welcome but leaving you to your own devices. The cottage itself is beautiful, the rooms are lovely and large and have all been decorated to a high quality finish - Jane has very good taste. The facilities are fantastic, we didnt want for anything- the kitchen is lovely and well equipped, the living room with its stove is a dream and also has a fantastic TV, the bed is extremely comfortable with high quality bedding and the en suite bathroom is wonderfully modern with a very nice shower and big fluffy towels provided. Usually on a breakaway we spend most of our time out exploring – it is testament to what a lovely place is that we spent two full days of our holiday relaxing in the cottage just enjoying our surroundings, the cows coming up to the living room window are a novel extra which we have missed since being back. Despite being rural there is plenty to do nearby and local towns and villages are easily accessible, we enjoyed days in Ripon and York as well as venturing to Middleham to the Forbidden Corner (very much recommended), there are also some nice places to eat locally (the Crown and the Masons Arms). We had an absolutely wonderful time and will be sure to visit West Wick again, if you are unsure whether to book or not, just do it – you won’t regret it.

The Westwick edge cottage we stayed at was scrupulously clean, had every home comfort you could imagine and the location was superb for a relaxing break.. Can't recommend it high enough. We will certainly be going back to that cottage in the future.

We had a wonderfully relaxing week in Westwick Edge Cottage and would certainly return.. The cottage was spotlessly clean (and I am fussy!), in a secluded rural area but with easy access to surrounding Towns. We went to Harlow Carr Gardens, Ripon Cathedral, Brimham Rocks, Boroughbridge and Harrogate. There are many other places that we wish to visit but didn't have time on this trip.

I had a great time staying at Westwick Edge- it was spotlessly clean, had everything anyone could need and there were lovely walks from the doorstep.. Perfect for a relaxing stay and no need to go far if you don't want to, but with plenty of nearby attractions if you want them.

Cottage was absolutely superb.. It had everything you could possibly want, exceptionally clean and extremely comfortable. The local was perfect - quiet, peaceful and beautiful yet very close to major roads making it easy to explore the area. We have already rebooked for next year.

My wife and I very much enjoyed our week at Westwick Edge.. A lot of effort had clearly gone in to making guests feel welcome. Upon arrival, a complimentary bottle of wine and whisky were nice touches. The property was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. Though the weather was pretty foul during out stay, the cottage felt extremely warm and cosy. The woodburner was well used! The nearest village of Bishop Monkton is a 25 minute walk away. A cross country route is possible, but the fields were simply too boggy during our stay, leaving the road as the only option. The village itself has no shops and is extremely quiet. The two pubs are open Wednesday to Sunday - for more choice you need to get in the car. The nearby village of Roecliffe has an excellent gastro pub open every day, in which we enjoyed a lovely lunch. Ripon is around 15 minutes by car, an attractive town with a good mix of High Street chain stores and independent retailers. As we like to experience new surroundings we probably wouldn't return to Westwick, but that is no reflection on the property in any way. For a quiet and restful stay it hits the spot.

This is our third visit to this beautiful cottage.. There is so much to do locally yet the cottage is perfect to chill and do nothing too. There is nothing I could say the cottage needs to improve. We will be back.

Our holiday accommodation was absolutely superb the cleanliness and attention to detail was exceptional.. The cottage is furnished to an extremely high standard and offers everything you may require for the most delightful holiday. Thank you Jane so much for the warmest of welcomes there was even a Christmas tree which made us smile and was very much a appreciated. This was our second visit to Westwick Edge Cottage and we can not recommend this property more highly.

Beautiful cottage in a scenic location.. The Mason's Arms in the village was quite a walk from the cottage along unlit road, so car essential. Cottage was comfortable and very well equipped.

We stayed at Westwick Edge Cottage for a week in January for my birthday. It was impressive from the moment we left the road and drove up to the long drive to the property. The cottage itself was beautiful and had everything we could need. Really big bedroom with a massive comfy bed. The living room was comfy and really nicely decorated. We loved having the floor windows at one end of the room and often had sheep coming to visit us,looking through the windows. The surroundings were so tranquil, overlooking fields. We could not have found a nicer place to have a birthday week away. We would recommend the cottage and will definitely be visiting again

Beautifully furnished property in tranquil rural setting.. Good location for exploring North Yorkshire. Facilities excellent, extra little treats a very pleasant bonus. Coming from a sub-tropical climate during a particularly old snap in late Spring we especially appreciated the heating and wood-burning fire!
February 2017
A wonderful week spent in this beautiful and stylish cottage. Every comfort has been provided here from the quality furnishings to the ultra soft and clean bed. The lounge, with its wood burner, TV and DVD has a fantastically comfy sofa, foot stool and lounge chairs. There are plenty of side tables so you don't even have to stretch to pick up your Gin and Tonic! The kitchen is very well equipped and the ensuite bathroom very modern and practical. We'd love to come back some time and would certainly recommend this tranquil cottage for a romantic getaway.

We loved our stay at Westwick Edge Cottage. The wood burning stove kept us warm and the kitchen was huge - so we were able to cook up some winter holiday feasts! The property was lovely and well placed for walking and visits to Ripon, Harrogate and the Yorkshire Dales.

The cottage is absolutely gorgeous a real home from home. There was nothing we felt we needed at all. We would visit again in heartbeat. The village had a lovely gastro pub, the Masons Arms at which we had a lovely xmas eve meal. We visited when the weather in yorkshire was not great however the lovely owners provided daily updates, milk and bread and wood for the gorgeous wood burner. Do not hesitate to visit Westwick edge cottage it really is 5*
