West Sunnyside House Coastal Cottage description

Holiday home
West Sunnyside House is a holiday apartment situated on the outskirts of the historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed in Northumberland. The apartment sleeps four people in two twin bedrooms (one accessed via the sitting room), and there are a ground floor bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC and a first floor cloakroom with basin and WC. On the ground floor is the kitchen and on the first floor, the sitting room with dining area and electric fire. Outside is off road parking for two cars and a rear decked and lawned area with furniture. With the amenities of Berwick close at hand and the coast reached in two miles, West Sunnyside House makes a great base for a family holiday on the Northumberland/Scotland border. Note: There is an old local swimming pool removal works taking place down the road from the property which is only causing visual disruption from kitchen and bedroom window.

Berwick is England's most northerly town, a coastal town with narrow streets and Elizabethan walls providing walks looking out to the coast and river estuary. Berwick has a host of amenities such as shops, restaurants and pubs, the Maltings Arts Centre and a leisure centre. The seaside resort of Spittal is a couple of miles away.

Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian's Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.

Gas central heating with electric fire in sitting room. Combination microwave with convection oven and double electric hob, fridge, washing machine, TV with Freeview, radio, selection of books and games. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot and highchair on request. Off road parking for 2 cars. Rear decked and lawned area with furniture. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop and pub 5 mins walk. Beach 2 miles. Note: There is an old local swimming pool removal works taking place down the road from the property which is only causing visual disruption from kitchen and bedroom window.

Cottage and owners were fantastic.. No complaints about them and the cottage whatsoever. However Sykes, I will never deal with again. We preplanned this adventure months ago, booked another cottage at the same time and paid the deposit. Within a day or two we had second thoughts about the location and asked to change (remember this was months in advance ) no refund on deposit. I would understand if it were closer to the time but.......... I reiterate the cottage and owners were fantastic. But it will be Airbnb for us next time

The accommodation was spotless, the cleanest we have been to. There was a lovely layout and everything we needed for the week. The owners were lovely; very friendly but did not intrude on our week. It was situated in a quiet location yet close by for sightseeing Lindisfarne, Edinburgh and local interests including a honey farm and of course Berwick town.

The location is lovely, near to a beach or leisure centre for rainy days. A lovely clean house, the photos don't do it justice really, it is bigger than it looks.

April 2014
Great little cottage apartment, with a large living dining area for our 9 month old baby to roll around. High-chair, travel cot and stair safety guards all provided. I think this cottage apartment is best suited for couples or a family with older children. Berwick was a lovely place and lots of places to go and see, especially Holy Island, and you are not too far from Edinburgh.
