A lovely cosy little cottage with some unusual features due to the history of the building Fully equipped kitchen with everything you need for your stay. The log burner a great feature and luckily only needed on one night as the weather was particularly kind to us. Great location for walking as you can go out the door and head towards Ingleborough peak or the caves. Stunning views all around The owners made us feel very welcome and were available if we needed anything Would definitely stay again

The cottage and the hosts were excellent , could not fault anything.. We would love to visit again but unfortunately I see they do not allow pets as we have a Springer spaniel and cannot always get someone to look after her so will have to look elsewhere, which is such a shame as it's 100% other than that. We were going to book again on our return , but looking elsewhere now. Such a shame. Would still recommend it to anyone.

We had a wonderful time - Wenning Bank is a beautiful property with superlative views.. The owners who live next door were really helpful and we really appreciated the welcome basket on arrival. Clapham is a gorgeous village and is excellently located - relatively easy to drive to (nowhere near as remote as some villages) and perfect as a base for exploring the the Dales. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay!

A fantastic cottage in a beautiful location! The views from the cottage are extraordinary and it was so nice to have a piece of the garden to use to enjoy the outdoor. The hosts were very helpful with giving tips and directions for small walks directly from the cottage along the river. We visited with young children so for us this was fantastic being able to explore so near to the cottage. The cottage itself is superb. Everything is neat and clean. Great beds, bedding, towels etc. It has everything you need and more. I would say that the kitchen has all utensils and convenience you possibly need. We were able to cook a bit more elaborately and bake a cake using all utensils that were available. There was a welcome basket which we found being such a thoughtful gesture. Thank you! Cottage is nicely decorated throughout and has a lot of charm and cosy atmosphere. We were so lucky with the wonderful warm Easter weather we did not use the woodstove, but that would indeed have been such a nice and cosy feature. Warmly recommend this cottage and location. We cannot wait to visit again.

The house is in a great location, with plenty of walking and cycling routes in the surrounding area, it is also very close to the railway station.. The lovely village of Clapham is within easy walking distance and has pubs, a restaurant and shops. The house itself is cosy, with a wood-burning stove, and has fantastic views over the countryside to the rear. It is very well equipped, so there was no need to buy household essentials such as washing up liquid, and the owners provided a very welcome basket of provisions, including milk, bread, wine and cheese.

Wonderful, cosy cottage.. The owners have gone to a lot of trouble to provide little extras that add to the comfort and convenience of the property. We slept very well on comfortable beds and the shower was hot and efficient. We enjoyed nights in around the log burner, and the huge variety of walks in the immediate area.

Lovely cottage just a mile off the main A65 which provided good access to all of the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District and West Yorks and Lancs too.. The outside space was very private and would have been a lovely place to sit out in the evenings if our time there had been dry. Great to have the car near to the cottage in the garden too, and delightful to watch the hens and bunnies from the property. The facilities at the cottage were brilliant with everything provided for, lots of space in the utility room to dry out wet things and leave our boots etc, and even electric heaters for the evenings when it was chilly. The amount of leaflets, books, games and toys were amazing as was the welcome pack (thank you) Great that the owner came to check we were ok a couple of times and offered to put the heating on, and also that a feed back form was provided so we could put any suggestions to the owners without putting them on a review and appearing to down mark them. A great place to stay, and if we ever return to the area to see the sights we had to see in the rain ( the weather was not at all kind!), we would definitely rebook.

This was our second stay this year at Wenning Bank and was as wonderful as our first stay earlier in the year .The cottage is spotlessly clean and very comfortable ,on arrival there was milk, cheese, bread, butter, scones, wine, coffee etc ... so welcoming as are the owners , nothing is too much trouble . The super king size bed is a dream for those cosy lay ins and the log burner great to put your feet up to at the end of the day . The cottage is simply a little slice of heaven , the ideal place to re-charge your batteries. We look forward to another stay very soon .

An excellent property on the outskirts of Clapham; decorated and furnished to a very high standard; yet maintaining its old characteristics. Ideal location for sightseeing and walking. The property is ideal for young and old and especially families with its large safe gardens. The welcome pack was most enjoyable with locally sourced bread, cheese, butter and milk; the wine was also a welcome surprise. Would recommend this property and definitely return in the future. 5 Star.

Wenning Bank is a stunning period cottage with all the modern conveniences you will ever need. We came for a quiet break, and we sure got it. The cottage is so clean, we felt like we'd walked into a brand new home. The charm of the place is just fab - the views are idyllic and we felt like we were in a fairytale for the whole stay. It had period features, original wooden doors, a wardrobe from the 1800's, log burner - everything you'd want from a country cottage. With this, a kitchen that looks brand new, pristine plates, cutlery, huge comfy leather sofas and a massive comfy bed. Thank you, we'll be back!

If you're looking for a break in the Yorkshire Dales, look no further. Wenning Bank is a stunning period cottage with all the modern conveniences you will ever need. We came for a quiet break, and we sure got it. On arrival we were welcomed from the train station, and at the cottage with a basket of freshly baked scones, bread, local butter and cheese. We couldn't have asked for more - thank you! The cottage is so clean, we felt like we'd walked into a brand new home. The Smart TV is great - after walking around the dales and local village it was lovely to stick Netflix on and open a bottle of fizz. We recommend the Clapham village store, just a mile away through fields of baby lambs (yes, don't wait for summer to enjoy this place!) for all your grocery needs. If you love organic veg, visit Growing With Grace, a local co-op supplying the local area with delicious veggies and fresh produce. We also did a Sainsbury's online shop for other bits and bobs and that was super easy too. WiFi is fast and reliable, and included in the price. The charm of the place is just fab - the views are idyllic and we felt like we were in a fairytale for the whole stay. The period features, original wooden doors, a wardrobe from the 1800's, log burner - everything you'd want from a country cottage. With this, a kitchen that looks brand new, pristine plates, cutlery, HD telly, huge comfy leather sofas and a massive comfy bed. We had a wonderful time, birdspotting, walking, lovely scenery for running or biking if you're into that! Close to Ingleton, and Clapham village has a pub, two cafés, vintage shop and grocery shop. Everyone is so friendly, as were the kind owners at Wenning Bank. Thank you, we'll be back!

A delightful cosy cottage with exceptionally friendly and helpful hosts. We visited in January. The cottage was perfect for us, being right next to the train station (infrequent trains, so still very peaceful) and with good views and nearby walks. The woodburning stove was excellent for keeping us warm in the snowy days, and Smart TV and good WiFi connection were great too. Hosts made us feel very welcome, with fresh scones and cheese! Lovely and clean. Would visit again and recommend to family and friends.

We rented this cottage to get away from the crowds in Manchester on New Year's Eve. It has all the charm of an old cottage but with modern appliances and is very cosy. The wood burner kept us warm throughout the evenings too. The place was spotless when we arrived and it felt like we were the first people to ever use the place. The hosts were very friendly and recommended some good walking spots in the local area. This place is situated within easy access of highlights like Malham Cove and Ingleborough. Couldn't really ask for more!

An exceptional self-catering property in an historic house which has been completely yet tastefully modernised and refurbished, accommodating historic features. Wonderfully atmospheric house and great layout with all mod cons. Immaculately clean. Faultless and perfect for a self-catering, relaxing holiday. And especially handy for walking Ingleborough, Pen Y Ghent, Whernside, Malham and Gordale and very near to the Settle-Carlisle railway. Perfect location.

The house was very atmospheric, being historic, yet was completely refurbished and modernised, the new changes accommodating the old features perfectly. The house was immaculately clean and perfectly equipped with extraordinarily good quality furnishings, décor, equipment and linen. The house was perfectly located for numerous walks in the dales. Its location was wonderfully quiet and the peaceful garden patio excellent for relaxing.
