Area
The village of Heptonstall is set high on a prominent hillside above its close neighbour, Hebden Bridge. Heptonstall is one of West Yorkshire's best kept secrets; a wonderfully preserved village with a main street that has changed very little in the last 200 years. Formerly an important centre for hand-loom weaving, the village still retains its original trading hall, while the old Grammar School, by the churchyard, is now a museum testifying to the village's illustrious past. In the centre are the two remaining pubs, the Cross Inn, believed to date from the early 17th century, and the White Lion, rumoured to be haunted by a Roundhead on a horse, a throwback to when the village was besieged during the Civil War.

Region
From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

Gas central heating with woodburner. The cottage was lovely! I would definitely recommend. It was a cosy and comfy cottage. We both just want wanted a relaxing week away and the cottage had everything we needed and more.

Weavers Cottage came up when we were searching for the Yorkshire dales, and it is actually quite a way away, particularly as the direct road was closed for repairs whilst we were there.. But there are also some very pleasant walks in the immediate area. It's a steep climb to walk, and not very well signposted, from Hebden Bridge where most of the restaurants are, to Heptonstall. So we tended to take the car. The cottage itself is small but excellently appointed. No serious outdoor space -- a tiny, very enclosed back yard. All reasonable Covid precautions were taken and we (a couple) had a very happy week based there.

Cottage was cosy, comfortable and well equipped, right in the centre of the village.. Very dog friendly. Owners on hand if needed and always helpful. Cottage in a great location for walking and exploring the local area. Tea rooms, Post Office and 2 good pubs within easy walking distance, also amazing bus service into local town if not wanting to drive.

Absolutely fabulous cottage, warm, cosy and in a great location within the village, great little bus service to hebden bridge and surrounding areas we would highly recommend a visit to both the cottage and area, looking forward to returning in the future..

This was our families first 'cottage holiday' and what a exceptional holiday to begin with! The cottage is beautifully presented, cozy and very welcoming upon arrival. The village itself is very quaint with it's cobbled streets and friendly locals, and it's location is perfect as it is central to many public footpaths... we took four walks during our stay and never took the same route twice! We enjoyed every part of this holiday so much so we have booked already to visit and explore again.

Cottage and facilities beautifully presented with some very nice touches, like a welcome cake and dog biscuits.. Cosy and comfortable, this is lovely place for couples.......with or without a pet. Location wise the cottage is very conveniently situated with, two pubs, a coffee shop and a small convenience store/post office next door. One disappointment was that the narrow cobbled streets and the unexpected level of thru traffic made for some fairly noisy awakenings each day. Overall though a great place top stay.

March 2019
Wonderful quaint cottage, well equipped with everything you need over 4 floors.. We had a brilliant time and used all the facilities for cooking, washing and snuggling up in front of the fire. Great village location with 2 pubs, tea room and shop. Regular bus service into Hebden Bridge as steep bank to walk which is ok on way down but challenging on way back. Everywhere very dog friendly including pubs and shops. Highly reccimend!

We have rented Seven cottage's from Sykes over the last few years and this is one of the best if not the best, everything you need over four floors parking round the corner through a narrow gap but not a problem cafe shops & pubs on the door step, ten minutes walk into town but does take longer to get back it's as its very steep but worth it.. Tony the landlord who runs post office next door is a lovely chap & very helpful will definitely return.

A beautiful cottage in a perfect location.. The owners were very accommodating and thoughtful ensuring we had the perfect stay. The locals were welcoming, the 3 pubs in the area provided excellent facilities and again were very welcoming. Hebden Bridge, less than a mile away was the perfect place for a stroll round and have a bite to eat or drink. We also ordered a take away from the local Indian which was the best Indian meal we have both had for a long time. The Village itself is steeped in history with a beautiful church. All in all it was the perfect retreat for us to relax after a busy year and refresh ready for 2019. We will definitely return!

Beautifully presented cottage with everything we needed.. Nothing had been forgotten. There were dishwasher tablets and washing powder and everything you could possibly need. We arrived to a delicious red velvet cake and treats for the dog. Very comfortable bed and huge bathroom. Gorgeous kitchen with quality appliances. Stunning village with beautiful walks from the doorstep. We stayed for 4 nights and didn't feel to need to use the car at all.

November 2018
We had a superb holiday here.. The cottage is perfect for 2 people. Even though it was November we never used the log burner as the central heating is so efficient and we were rarely in for an evening. With plenty of storage space and a well equipped kitchen we could have stayed a lot longer. Such a joy to have a full size hob and an oven as well as provision not only of washing up liquid but dish washer tablets and washing powder for the machine. All the locals we met were friendly and helpful giving us advice on local walks. There's no shortage of waymarked paths to walk from the village. A real home from home. We hope to return next year.

Weavers Cottage is delightful, very well equipped and immaculately clean.. Helpful owners and lots of nice extra touches - chocolate cake on arrival, milk, a little bottle of wine, teabags and coffee. The bed in the main bedroom is comfortable, the over-bath shower is good and the separate utility room is a bonus. Our teen liked his top floor bedroom. Heptonstall is a historic gem and you can walk straight out into glorious countryside. It's peaceful, but has buzzy Hebden Bridge just down the (steep) road with a regular bus service. The village has two excellent pubs and the New Delight Inn at Colden is a lovely walk. We thoroughly recommend it.

The cottage is lovely and in a village that has history on the doorstep.. It sits above the town of Hebden Bridge so the walks up and down are a challenge but there is a regular bus service. Hebden Bridge is a busy market town that has many independent shops and eateries. There are shops that if you enjoy crafts are lovely to browse in and appreciate the talents people have. Walking routes are plentiful; can be along the canal paths or over the moors and along the valleys. Many are accessible from the cottage, so the car can enjoy a rest! The Pennine Way is close by too. Parking is restricted in the village, so no direct space outside the cottage but a car park is nearby. Weavers Cottage is warm, cosy and ideal for those wishing to explore the sights of West Yorkshire. The owners were very obliging and the welcome touch was appreciated too.

November 2017
The cottage has been renovated to a very high standard and was very comfortable.. Cleanliness could not be faulted. Milk, tea and ground coffee were provided as well as a small bottle of Prosecco and chocolates (which were very nice). The owners were very friendly and keen to ensure we enjoyed our stay. There is a bus that runs from the village into Hebsen Bridge and the railway station if you don't want to use the car or walk. I can highly recommend the cottage for anyone wanting to stay in this part of England and we will definitely be returning in the future.

November 2017
The cottage and village was warm and welcoming, Tony our host thought of everything from a goody bag of wine and chocolate to milk, tea, coffee and logs to get us started.. The cottage has been renovated to a high standard with a handy laundry/wet room and everything we needed kitchen wise. We just had to turn up and enjoy. We can't wait to return.
