December 2019
Weaver's Cottage was perfect for our week in Yorkshire - we had a wonderful time, rather wet but restful all the same.. As we prefer not to drive, we always look for properties within walking distance of train/bus links and Weaver's Cottage was about a ten minute walk from both the station and bus station in Skipton - not too far to carry our bags, and plenty of taxis at the station if we'd been feeling lazy. The house was very easy to find - really clear directions and instructions provided. We had lots of helpful text information from the owner/caretaker which was both welcoming and reassuring - if there had been a problem (which there wasn't) we'd have been able to get help. The house was beautifully warm and clean when we arrived - bedding, towels, kitchen equipment - especially pleased to find a cafetiere, cleaning things and hand wash - it all makes life so much easier when you don't have to shop for these things just for a week. It was lovely that someone had taken the trouble to put up some charming Christmas decorations - a really sweet touch. The beds were very comfortable, the sitting room was too - wifi was great and tv easy to use. The weather was pretty wet so it was good to have hard floors all through the ground floor - no worries about ruining carpets. We didn't use the stove as we didn't have any means of getting more wood other than carrying it, but a starter kit of wood and kindling was provided. Skipton and the surrounding area are quite lovely, the people friendly, interesting shops, lots of places to eat - we loved the Two Sisters. Lots of walking - the Castle Woods in Skipton, the tow path to Gargrave, and in and around Malham, Settle and Bentham. A friendly, warm, comfortable, nicely furnished and well looked after place to stay on a quiet street within easy walking distance of Skipton town centre.

We did find the starters of washing up liquid, soap, kitchen towel, loo rolls etc very useful.. I do hate it when you arrive and immediately have to rush out and buy all those basics. There was also a starter pack for the wood burner but to be honest the place was so lovely and cosy we never felt the need for it.

Weavers cottage is beautiful, There is everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Well equipped kitchen. Cosy lounge. Comfortable beds. Lovely bathroom with a nice deep bath to soak in after a day out. Lovely little patio garden to sit out in . 5 mins walk to the high street , the road is very quiet, steps up to cottage are a bit steep as there is no hand rail so anyone with mobility issues might struggle ( the only negative for us ) Stairs inside cottage are steep also, we would definitely stay here again.

Weaver’s Cottage is ideally situated close to Skipton Town Centre but far enough away to be very quiet.. The cottage is well maintained and clean, we would thoroughly recommend it to anyone visiting this part of Yorkshire. We had a wonderful holiday, Skipton is the perfect Centre for visiting The Dales and all the nearby towns.

This is our second stay at Weavers Cottage & was just as clean & comfortable as we remembered it.. It's a great base for all the local amenities & although we travelled by train, we had no problem visiting Grassington, the Worth Valley Railway & other places by bus. We had a great time & are planning to go back again next year for a truly relaxing & happy holiday in a beautiful location.

We found the house immaculately clean.. There were lots of things in the kitchen, like tea coffee sugar (not just complimentary sachets). Cupboards had things like cooking foil, cooking oil, and cling film. Lots of useful condiments. Very well equipped kitchen. Got internet connection easily. TV worked well when we sat to watch. The linens were lovely quality, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The bath is large and relaxing. Not situated in the town centre if you walk you have to be prepared to go up hill and down hill in steep streets. And the steps up to the front door are extremely steep without rails until you get to the front door. The rear entrance taking you out to the cobbled back lane is a very easy access point. You may have trouble parking in the street, neighbours take up all the road with their cars. A very inviting cottage, very comfortable to stay, and we will definitely be going back next year.

Spotlessly clean, quiet location and only a short walk from Skipton centre.. I would highly recommend Weaver's Cottage and was very impressed with the high standard to which it had been furnished. May not be suitable for those who have trouble with steps, but once you're inside, it truly is a home from home

July 2018
We particularly liked the kitchen and the cosy living room.. The cottage was a good size and could easily accommodate four people comfortably. Although the road was on the level, many of the surrounding streets were very hilly, so we wouldn't recommend this property to anyone who has any walking problems. Also, the steps into the cottage were very steep as was the indoor staircase. On the whole though. we were very pleased with the cottage.

Just had a lovely week in Weaver's Cottage - really clean, cosy & central to Skipton.. Really relaxing & the skylight in the bathroom is nice to look up at the stars. Really pleased with the cottage & the helpfulness of the owner in letting us know we didn't have to rush to check out. Would recommend it for a cosy Dales holiday & great value.

I just returned from a 2 week stay at Weaver's Cottage and already I miss it. Great faciltiies, lovely and cosy when the air is chilly outside, everything you need on the inside for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Really it is a home from home, no issues whatsoever. Its location for the town centre and all that Skipton has to offer is perfect.

The cottage had a homely feel to it which made it easy to switch off and relax. There was plenty of room for parking on the road outside the property. I liked that the cottage was close to town so we were able to walk in and not use the car and that even though it was near the town it was still in a quiet area. Everything you could need was in the cottage so there was no need to carry lots of extras from home.

Just as described, very comfortable, clean, and convenient to village. Host allowed us a slightly early check in on first day because we were visiting Yarndale festival that morning. No issues with heat or hot water. Bath was very nice, modern. Beds comfortable. Internet was useful, TV OK, wood burner a nice addition. The town was a joy. It was our first visit to Yorkshire. Took public transportation to all our sites... York, Bolton Abbey, Manchester. Great vacation all around.

An ideal location to Skipton town, all within walking distance so the car could be left parked all week in front of the property. There were plenty of places to visit with ideal eateries close by. I would thoroughly recommend Weaver's Cottage, lovely accommodation and an ideal location. It was peaceful considering it was so close to town, couldn't have asked for more.

The cottage is quite central and about 7-8 minutes on foot from the High Street and the bus station, using a short cut along the railings above the beck. It is a cosy cottage, in a terrace, having a small paved garden in front and a pleasant secluded little patio at the back, with a table and chairs. As the weather was fine during my week there, it was good to be able to sit outside in the sun.

September 2014
Cottage was as described, spotlessly clean, perfect location in a residential area just a few minutes walk from town. Cottage felt like a home rather than just a 'to let' property, very good quality fixtures and fittings. WiFi easy to connect and great speed. The little enclosed patio at the back was a lovely place to chill with a glass of wine at the end of the day. Public transport throughout the area is exceptional. Sykes Cottages and the caretaker of the property delivered a first class service.

We had a very good holiday re-visiting places we had been before (Hawes Aysgarth etc). We also enjoyed seeking out new places to visit and the cottage was very well positioned close to the centre of Skipton with most places within the town reachable on foot. Skipton was also well served by buses enabling us to take pleasant trips to local towns.
