Located on the border between the Luberon and the Aix region, near the Lavender Route, the peaceful village of Saignon is remarkable. Perched on a hill, it overlooks the entire valley and winds its narrow alleys around a beautiful 12th-century Romanesque church. Here you have access to a superb panorama of the Luberon Mountains, the ochre cliffs, and on a clear day, you can even see Mont Ventoux, the ‘Giant of Provence’ with a white summit in all seasons, the reliefs of the Alpes de Haute Provence and even the Palais des Papes in Avignon.

A number of excellent hiking trails start from the village and will take you through the magnificent and fragrant landscapes of this lovely area. You can also discover the area on horseback, by mountain bike, or even in a hot air balloon from Forcalquier, 40km away. Do not miss the Bonnieux Cedar Forest, the Village des Bories or the Colorado of Rustrel, all sure to make for a great day out. Provence is a fabulous destination with a very rich heritage, including its Roman monuments, famous vineyards of the Côtes-du-Rhône like Gigondas or Châteauneuf-du-Pape and medieval villages like Baux-de-Provence.
