The streets between Jardim do Princípe Real and Avenida da Liberdade are far from touristy – the houses are populated with real Lisbon residents, who go about the business between small shops and cafes. Rainy Night is located inside a typical Portuguese townhouse, albeit one that looks a bit more scruffy on the outside – unlike the apartment. The home has a lovely view and lots of natural light, with a simple, functional design that doesn't clutter. We particularly liked the French doors and the wooden headboard in the master bedroom.
Home truths: * Six guests can stay in this home, but two will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living room
* Although functional, the kitchen looks a little outdated
* When we visited, we spotted some scratches on the walls in the living room, especially the corners
* There is no elevator to this third-floor home – those with limited mobility or heavy suitcases beware
* The chairs around the dining table don't match
