Little Acorn is a lovely cottage resting in the hamlet of Lake near Tawstock in Devon. Hosting a king-size bedroom with an en-suite, this property can sleep up to two people. Inside you will also find an open-plan sitting area with kitchen and dining area. To the outside is lockable storage, off road parking, and a shared garden and balcony with seating. Located in a wonderful area, Little Acorn is perfect for a romantic getaway, in a pleasant part of England. Note: no children or infants at the property

Area
Barnstaple is a busy traditional Devon coastal town with a pannier market, shops, restaurants and bars, along with two fabulous sandy beaches, which are popular with surfers and families. Cose by is the picture postcard coastal village of Clovelly. A combination of numerous long sandy beaches and family attractions makes Barnstaple a desirable holiday destination.

Region
Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

Our second visit was as good as the first! We were again given a friendly welcome, delicious goodies and flowers. We visited Arlington Court, walked round Wistlandpound Reservoir and walked at Baggy Point. We dodged the hail showers by spending an afternoon at the cinema in Barnstaple! Little Acorns was very clean, tidy warm and cosy.. Ideal for the two of us taking a break. on arrival we were welcomed with a bottle of bubbly, flowers, fruit and a devon cream tea. What wonderful hosts and family. Brilliant location and accommodation.

Little Acorn is an excellent base for touring North Devon and Cornwall.. It is a beautiful apartment with everything there that you might need for a really comfortable stay.The kitchen and lounge have lovely far reaching views and it was just wonderful to lie in bed at night and look at the stars. It is in a really quiet and peaceful area, but only a few minutes from the main roads and shops. Ali and Andy are a really lovely couple, nothing was too much trouble for them, and the cream tea on arrival was superb. We hope to go back again one day and would highly recommend this holiday apartment to anyone who is looking for something a little bit special.

The heating is controlled by the owners as there isn't a separate control at the property yet.. This is a bit is an issue in November, the owners did provide a heater and said to contact them if we wanted the heating on more than they provided. A separate control would be ideal as you don't want to keep bothering the owners. In the summer months this wouldn't be an issue. The pressure for the hot water could be improved too.

Little Acorns exceeded expectations.. Far enough from Barnstaple to be a quiet retreat, yet close enough to walk to should you wish to. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable and our hosts Alison and Andy were friendly and helpful.

Would highly recommend Little Acorn to everyone and it deserves a 5 star rating.. Ali and Andy are great hosts the welcome pack was fab especially the clotted cream !! I needed somewhere to stay for 10 nights due to business commitments.. I tried to book in to a hotel but alas they were all full. Fortunately I stumbled upon Sykes Cottages and Little Acorn and booked up. What a delight I was met by the owner given the keys etc. The apartment was superb; fridge freezer, oven, washing machine and tumble drier, kettle, coffee machine, toaster etc. I went shopping beforehand, for basic provisions like washing up liquid, salt and pepper, washing tablets etc but there really is no need, basics were supplied. Even a cream tea (scones, jam and clotted cream) was waiting for me! Little Acorn is a 15-20 min walk in to town, very private and quiet. If I get the opportunity to travel to North Devon again I will certainly stay at Little Acorn.

Little Acorn is an absolutely beautiful apartment in such a lovely setting.. It had everything we needed and more. The hosts were amazing, leaving little touches like a cream tea on arrival - nothing was too much trouble for them. The neighbours were friendly too, making us feel very welcome and at home, we would have loved to stay longer, We had a wonderful break even without the sunshine - typical of holidaying in England!

Everything was as previous reviews from the excellent views the lovely Ali and Andy ,and the apartment it ticks all the boxes and they are doing an excellent job ,the scones and all the other things they supplied,the neighbors were very friendly and you can discover lots of Devon with local buses and train station nearby..

The best reception from the hosts we have ever had! !! Nothing was too much trouble for them, they always found time to have a little chat, so friendly and obliging nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was tip top very clean spacious and beautifully kept.

This appartement was very convenient cosy and beautifull.. The view was fantastic There was a large range of comfort and a pretty garden to sit in there was many touristic informatiion of the area, books to read and DVD to watch . Barnstaple is a nice little town with many shops and weekly an antique and curiosity market. It is also a good place to visit by car,bus of train the touristic places. Ali and Andy were very helpfull and gave us all the informatiion we could need. This appartements is really the best we ever had ( we travel already more than 43 years) We recommand this lovely house to everybody. PS: We stayed for 3 weeks. Vercauteren Freddy from Belgium
