To the east of the city centre, Join the Dots gives you the chance to experience a part of Milan less focussed on tourists or business travellers, and more in step with people who actually live there. It’s comfortable, and while it’d be wrong to describe the interior design as particularly groundbreaking, there are some nice touches, like the printed wallpaper. It’s worth noting that this is on a main road, so there’s quite a lot of traffic noise, as well as a tram clattering along outside.
Home truths: *When we visited, the wi-fi hadn't yet been installed, but it had been scheduled
*The tap in the bathroom is slightly counterintuitive – you can turn it on from underneath the basin
