In a world where faux-Scandinavian design is all the rage, and you can’t move for pastels, coming across Guardian Angel makes quite the impression. It’s about as far from any sort of minimalism as it is possible. Staying here feels a bit like a journey back in time, as everything seems to be at least a hundred years old (apart from the TV, thankfully), and for a city with as rich a history as Venice, that’s the sort of immersion we can get behind.
Home truths: *There's no lift in the building, so you'll have to take the stairs
*Unfortunately there isn't any air conditioning
*As you can see from the photos, the ceiling on the mezzanine is fairly low
*Both of the showers are also a little low, though only tall people should notice
