Located at the heart of this grandiose yet gritty city, you’ll find the colossal cathedral, one of the largest in the country; the Royal Chapel, an elaborate Isabelline-Gothic style mausoleum; and the Alcaicería, home of the Great Bazaar, now selling clothes, souvenirs and jewellery, all within walking distance. Be sure to stop for tapas and a glass or two of sweet local wine at one of the local restaurants on the plaza de Isabel la Católica, mere moments away, before heading home for a nightcap on the terrace.
