We love the industrial touches in this home – like the pink-painted brick wall and the frosted factory-style windows – that give this space so much colourful character. The floor tiles, too, are an eye-catching highlight, as is the large painting hanging above the gingham-dressed bed. Our favourite spot, however, has to be the courtyard where a table and chairs invite you to start your mornings off in relaxing fashion. Sip your coffee here amidst the tumble of potted plants before setting off to see the sights. You’re just a twenty-minute walk from the Canal Saint-Martin as well as Le Marais where narrow streets are packed full of vintage shops and trendy cafes. If you rather explore by bike, there’s a Vélib station (Paris’ bicycle sharing system) just two minutes from your door. After a day of adventuring, come back home for a glass of wine in the courtyard and a meal at home. Alternatively, let your host make you a reservation at one of the city’s best restaurants to end your day on a gourmet high.
