Although it seems a shame to spoil them, we feel compelled to tell you about the surprises to be found at this farmhouse-style Tuscan address. From the outside, the location looks rather rural in character — all green hillsides and ancient olive trees — but head up to the roof terrace and you're treated to a sublime sea view.
Next up, climb back down the steps into the garden, follow the charming stone path and you'll reach a Trullo home in miniature that holds one of the three bedrooms. Inside, the intimate space has the characteristic textured walls and conical roof, making for a place that's both charming and private.
There are plenty of features that are a little more obvious, but no less welcome for it. The saltwater swimming pool in the garden is sure to see a lot of use during the height of summer, while there's also a traditional barbecue for when you've worked up a hunger. The design in the main villa is a treat too, with a vintage dining table sitting underneath a chandelier, as well as a contemporary kitchen and set of bathrooms.
When you fancy seeing a little more of the local area, there's a wide choice of restaurants in the town of Fasano, reached in ten minutes' walk. As the view from the roof suggests, the seaside isn't too far away, either — Calette del Capitolo takes a quarter of an hour in the car.
Home truths: *There's free parking available on the premises
*There are no stairs in the home, except to reach the rooftop terrace
*The host provides concierge service that can help you with local recommendations
*The Trullo suite doesn't have air conditioning
